Intense Read
This was a great story but not for the faint of heart. If you are looking for the typical fluff boy meets girl then, after some tame misunderstandings, reunite and get married, thus is NOT the book for you.Ms. Diamond touched on some very real and heavy topics, that others might shy away from. I am glad that she did and even though the choices and antics of Lucas and Ivy truly upset me, it caused me take a closer look at why I was triggerd. Reality, even when presented in a fictional romance novel, can not be ignored. I was triggered because some of the events that occur in this book, actually happen in real life.I have the rest of the books in this series, but I am going to read something much lighter before reading the next Johnson Family book.

aaahhhh
This the begining of a series on the Johnson family. Ivy is the only daughter of an AA family that can trace their roots back to pre-slavery. They have capitalized on their heritage and made a name that ranks with the elite. They have a dynasty similar to their name sakes in publishing today, however their fortune is made in the beer industry.Ivy had a fling when she was in her 20's with Lucas, who had very humble beginnings. He now is a well known author, because writing is his passion. He has a book tour that lands him in Seattle. He hears a woman laughs and it brings back some vivid memories. He chases who he thinks was that laughed only to see her taxi speed off into the night. As he reenters the hotel, he sees a billboard with her family's Beer and organization listed. He makes an effort to enter the event and finds that his ears were correct..Ivy is in that hotel. He's drawn to her, she is shocked but runs from him. Determined to have an actual conversation, he shows up at her office and gets the surprise of his life. This story draws you in and pulls your heart strings on many levels. Will the heiress to a mutli-million forutne find love? What was the surprise that Lucas finds that changes his life forever? Will the player of all players finds he was wrong about something nearly 10 years later? How will the reunion of Ivy and Lucas effect Ivy's coverup?Great read and I'm on to "Perfect" to find out more about Ivy's oldest brother who wasn't too popular in Unforgettable...Thank you Ms, Diamond for another great read...the romantic in me is well pleased...

Couldn't put it down...
...so I read it in one sitting! This "second chance at romance" story has just enough angst and suspense to keep you page turning through the night. Sleep? Who needs it? HA!Wealthy Ivy Johnson and Lucas Baylor once enjoyed a summer fling that just...ended. With different agendas, or so they believed, each went their separate way without looking back. Okay, there was 'looking back' but neither one is aware of it...yet.A chance meeting nine years later leads Lucas to reach out to Ivy in friendship and she shuts him down. Walking away in anger determined to forget about Ivy, Lucas stumbles across the secret Ivy's been keeping for nine years - and the story really takes off.I liked Lucas. If not for his confrontational, we-gotta-talk attitude, it would have been a very short story. He was quite intense and possessive - not bad things when they moved the relationship forward. Ivy's past bad decisions left her more than a little battle weary in matters of the heart, but it was just good to see her stop the running, hiding, and coverups and deal with Lucas. With her wealth and family name, Ivy could have been a totally different person. More like Cyrus - yikes! Loved seeing her support the relationship between Lucas and Katie.Constance Johnson - class act all the way. Priscilla? Oh.Em.Gee! Almost felt sorry for her...almost, but she kinda set herself up for that. She also seemed more than a bit mercenary. Katie - what a lil sweetheart. Even though she had a major adjustment to make, she acted better than most of the adults. LOL! Janelle - you dirty double crosserDefinitely fell in love with this story and am looking forward to book 2 of the Johnson Family.

Okay read. Possible spoiler info included.
Let me first say I love this author's work. This book was okay. Ivy and Lucas had a brief affair nine years ago. It lasted three months but they fell in love. He left because he had plans overseas and told Ivy he would never get married, though he never proposed or anything like that. She hid that she was an wealthy heiress. He was an adopted poor kid.Fast forward. They encounter each other randomly. Ivy has a big secret. When Lucas finds out the secret she's trying to keep he's devastated. He has a daughter. Not original, but I stuck with it. They fight back and forth over each one's jealousy. He's seeing someone and so is she. Also, Ivy's husband of eight years passed away two years ago.Ivy's past isn't so pretty and her family does everything to keep it secret from the paparazzi. Ultimately they can't and they find out about her love child with Lucas. Ivy and Lucas have issues because of the paparazzi. Ultimately there's a happy ever after.Pros:Well written.Price.Jealous lovers.Great reaction by Katie to meeting her dad after losing the man she thought was her father. That was realistic.Cons:The characters weren't described very well. I didn't know Lucas' eye color or maybe I missed it and simple things that would give the readers a visual thought about Lucas. Near the end I found out his skin complexion. As stated before I may have missed it.I had a hard time staying connected with the story. It just wasn't exciting.Ivy was described as having long legs and arms but not a lot of descriptors on her as well. The same for their daughter, Katie. What exactly did Ivy do? I know there was mention of her business once but that was about it I believe.I didn't feel the love connection. No spark to me. I think the first love scene was about 75% in. If not it was close to that. This book was missing that normal Delaney Diamond flare. The unknown love child angle isn't original. I wish the story was a little more original with that aspect.

Unforgettable
Really good read. I wasn't sure what to expect from this author but was nit disappointed. DD writes in a way that has you glued to the book. I loved the way Lucas was all alpha male :-) looking forward to reading more from the Johnson family!!

A Good read
Not my favourite out of the series but all in all, a good introduction. Felt D.Diamond held back a little, with the characters, especially Ivy. BUT, its a very good read. 'PERFECT' is my number one at the moment
