Okay, so i have to admit, i'm definitely biased. But, i watched this the other night while intoxicated and it was the best experience ever. Definitely going to watch it again

Wonderful style, soundtrack, storyline and script. The characters are gruesome and adorable all at once. Lots of dark, black humour, perfect for my kids! We had initially rented this film, but found ourselves singing the songs and quoting the lines to each other, so it had to be bought. It's refreshing to see that Disney and Pixar do not have the monopoly on animated classics.

i was a little dubious about this childrens dvd, i thought my girls (6 and 5) wouldn't enjoy it. i was wrong :) they watched it 3 times on the bounce before we had to go out, and it was straight on again when we returned. at this bargain price, its well worth the peace and quiet it brings.

-- except maybe choice of songs/music in one or two places. Otherwise the best horror-comedy animated there's been, Tim Burton not excepted. More for adults really - lots of cynical humour and innuendo - but i'm sure kids will love it too. Great plot, animation and voiceovers, especially Eddie Izzard as Schadenfreude (spelling!?). Lets have a sequel!

Great all round feel good family film. With plenty of laughs, and sweet moments, my family and I really really enjoyed it.

Sehr schön gemachter Animationsfilm (Optik aus Nightmare before Christmas) mit sehrpositiver Aussage (Shrek!), der sich hinter diesen Vorbildern nicht verstecken muss!FSK 12 ist meiner Meinung nach (wegen der Optik) durchaus angebracht.Trotz des Horror-Themas halte ich den Film auch für jüngere Kinder (allerdings nur,wenn er zusammen mit Erwachsenen gesehen wird) durchaus geeignet- wegen der niedlichen Figuren- wegen der positiven Grundaussage- weil er spannend ist- und an einigen Stellen überrascht- sowie trotz (und vor Allem auch wegen) des am Schluss erhobenen ZeigefingersErwachsene werden am Film außerdem mögen:- Filmzitate aus so manchem klassischen Film (Die Fliege, Frankenstein, King Kong ...)Fairerweise möchte ich noch sagen:Ich habe mir den Film nur in englischer Sprache angeschaut und kann daher nicht sagen,ob die deutsche Synchronisation gelungen ist. Sollte ich mir den Film auf deutsch ansehen,werde ich in dieser Bewertung dazu noch ein paar Worte verlieren.Leider ist die deutsche Synchronisation nicht so gut ausgefallen, wie ich mir gewünscht hätte,d.h. kleine Nuancen gehen leider unter. Ich habe mir einige Zeit überlegt, die fünf Sterne aufvier zu reduzieren, habe es aber letztlich doch bei der Höchstwertung belassen, ganz SO übelwar sie denn doch nicht!!!
