I recently purchased the BrosTrend 5-Port 2.5Gb Ethernet Switch to upgrade my home network setup. While I couldn’t test the full 2.5Gb speed capabilities due to my current hardware limitations, the switch has impressed me in other areas. Setup was incredibly easy true to its plug-and-play promise. Within minutes, I had connected my Xbox and PC, all of which worked seamlessly without any additional configuration. Cheap, light, not particularly fancy looking and not amazing quality - but for the price, it’s a solid set up. No configuration, no port management - but be real for most home setups and use cases this switches your connection into multiple super fast lines that enable you to do most home networking at awesome speeds. It’s compact and low power, don’t need to be techy to set it up - I just sit it in a little area near my router and have it wired to 2 mesh nodes in the house, perfect really.

Upgraded my fibre connection to 2.5Gb. This is small and low power. Good price and does the job easily. Using CAT5 from 8p switch then same to new router. Some older gear is 1Gb capable only, no issues, so far

So the switch does what it says on the tin and gives the 2.5gb network capacity but to supply a black power adapter with a black cable for a white switch is just daft. Surely a white switch needs to be supplied with a white power brick.

Great looking. Shame about the power brick being black not white. But it functions at full speed on all ports with no loss, silently. It doesn’t even get hot.

Works good getting full speed on an old cat5e network.

I was having drops in my home network, and after some tinkering i realized that my older 2.5 switch was the the problem and it had to be replaced. I needed something moderately priced, and after looking i found this switch on amazon. i never heard of the company, but the price and the reviews encouraged me to buy this switch. now, it's been a week since i got this switch and used it and I'm happy to report that it's working well. I've got all ports occupied and transferred some files from my NAS to my PC and I got the full speed of advertised 2.5GB speed. Another comforting point is that this network switch doesn't get as hot as my previous one. hopefully this is a good sign that it'll last longer.

Works well! I have a 3g connection, and this 2.5gb port has given me consistent 2.3gb download and upload speeds! Keep in mind when I set it up and initially the connection was shaky and kept disconnecting, however I plugged my Ethernet cable into another port on the switch and I have had a stable connection since! It also doesn't get noticeably hot like rival switches do. Please note, it does not come with an Ethernet cable so go and grab yourself a CAT 8 or 7 cable. Great investment!
