Great cleaner for fruits and veggies.
We use this product to clean and disinfect all our fruits and veggies - natural and thorough - no residue - safe to use. The concentrate is expensive, but makes several spray bottles, which last along time. Keep handy by the sink to clean all melons, and other hard shell veggies and fruits that are imported and commercially sourced. Works great.

Sadly Time to Say Goodbye to Tough & Tender
I’ve never written an opus to a household cleaner before, but admittedly, I have a strange relationship to Tough & Tender and Melaluca products. :-) Bottom line is that I've never loved a cleaner like I _used_ to love this stuff. When ever you’d spray it and wipe down a kitchen counter, the room just smelled naturally clean and lovely. My wife teased me that I never cleaned up nearly as much as when we discovered Tough & Tender. Aside from the fact that it's an MLM product and she had to become a dealer just to purchase what we needed, the products seemed good enough and they did great work without bleach and horrible headache and cancer causing ingredients. All based around Tea Tree Oil, Melaluca, nature's wonder oil. My wife discovered Melaluca prior to our son's birth some 13 years or so ago and they kind of took over our cleaning. The Thyme Oil stuff that kills 99.99% of all bacteria and viruses (SoluMel/SoluGuard), was even hard to purchase in CA, because it hadn't been approved yet, but it was the safest, hospital grade stuff out there there. Now it's used by 7th Generation and others, but I think Melaluca might have been one of the very first to find and develop it for use. Longer story short, after some 5-6 years of being a Melaluca distributor, the whole MLM thing got seriously old. You had to purchase a certain amount and we just weren't using enough to justify the monthly minimum we had to sell or consume. We just wanted to buy the products as we needed them and not make a huge thing out of it. So we ended our relationship with Melaluca, but continued to use many of their cleaning products. So when we finally ran out of the motherlode we had stocked up over the years, I wanted to order some more. Even though the bottles of concentrate are much cheaper if you can find a local “distributor,” I paid twice that here on Amazon because it was easy. They took a long time to arrive (we’re Prime Members, but this wasn’t covered, I guess), but when they finally came, I realized we no longer had the special spray bottles where you measure the concentrate and fill the rest with water. [sigh] So to the tune of $3/bottle, I had to order 6 of those on eBay. Finally, everything arrived! I opened the first bottle, mixed it according to plan and started spraying and cleaning. But something was wrong. This powerful perfumey smell was everywhere! Smelled like an old ladies’ perfume and I couldn’t even get it off my hands! It was AWFUL, sickeningly sweet. Have you ever hugged someone at church and not been able to get their strong perfume off you? Well, that’s exactly what Melaluca has done to Tough & Tender. It honestly gave me a mild headache and I just couldn’t STAND it! I got our last remaining bottle of the old stuff out and used it to clean off the perfumed stink of the new stuff. Not wanting to get trapped in the Melaluca, you-really-have-to-join-and-sell-the-stuff, MLM thing, I contacted 4 different people in my area known to be Melaluca distributers. I asked each of them about this formula change. [I know, 4 seems like a lot, but I’m rather tenacious when I want to figure something out.] Each one of them had a different story about the formula change. One insisted it had never been changed, another insisted that it was changed over a decade ago, another said there were now 2 formulas being sold (the old and the new “red” one), and one of them was 30 minutes away from meeting with one of the larger supervisors in the area (thus my 4th contact). They also got back to me after that meeting with incorrect information. With all of the widely varying information from distributors, I gave up and contacted Melaluca directly. I was told that they changed the formula about a year ago and the old formula was just gone. :-( [Sigh] At least I had clarity. ;-) Now I realize this essay totally sounds over the top, like a plea to bring back Classic Coke or something, but (sadly) I will never use NEW Tough & Tender. It’s just awful now and it seems to indicate that Melaluca is sliding down a slippery slope now with its formulas. One of the widely accepted issues with health and well being these days is: FRAGRANCE. For nearly 20 years now major brands like Tom’s of Maine, Seventh Generation and many notable others have realized that while fragrance may not be as deadly as breathing fumes from bleach in your cleaning, careful attention to it reveals a certain IQ in the field. “Unscented” products are becoming the preferred choice of a major market share of consumers. Additionally, more and more enclosed public spaces are requesting that people don’t wear powerful perfumes because they’re the new second hand smoke. Again, not quite as deadly, but really unpleasant and uncomfortable for those with allergies and other more serious sensitivities. I’m _not_ one of those fragrance free people who become ill when exposed. I have had allergies most of my life, and I’ve never liked hugging a friend and then wearing their cologne or perfume for hours and hours. But I remember what it was like before we had natural cleaners in our home. I remember the DAY I walked back into the house after we’d changed all of our cleaning products over the Melaluca and the house had been professionally cleaned. It was the first time I didn’t get that “disinfected headache,” I’d grown up with all of my life.. You know the one I’m talking about, right? It’s when you smell the bleach or ammonia in and around the bathrooms? And you try to feel good about the burning smell because at least it’s clean? Well, those days are gone. Now when we clean our home or have it professionally cleaned, it mostly smells like natural tea tree oil, thyme oil or white vinegar. Neither one of those smells gives me a headache or makes me wonder if it’s triggering cancer cells in my body, or those of my family. So, it’s time to say goodbye to Tough & Tender. It’s hard letting go of an old friend, but clearly our relationship has become a bit co-dependent if I can find this many things to say about it in an Amazon review. I appreciate that Melaluca helped to get us thinking about healthy cleaning products in the home, but now it’s time to move on to new companies that can maintain that healthy standard and not smell offensive or harmful in the process. The End.

I love this to the point that it's depressing when I run out of it. It is absolutely the best all-purpose cleaner available...and I have tried them all.
