Excellent Product Design, but Compatibility Issue with 2019 Toyota Corolla SE
I was impressed with the Dongar Pro's innovative design and ease of installation. The DIY approach is significantly more straightforward than traditional hardwiring through the fuse box, which typically requires testing multiple fuses for ACC and BAT connections. The product arrived promptly, and I was initially very satisfied. However, I discovered that none of the wire adapters included with the Dongar Pro were compatible with my 2019 Toyota Corolla. While the instruction manual does contain a compatibility list, I wish this information had been readily accessible on the Amazon product description page prior to purchase. This would have helped me verify compatibility before ordering. Despite having to return the product due to incompatibility with my specific vehicle, I still rate this 5 stars based on its quality, design, and ease of use. I would recommend this product to others, provided they verify their vehicle's compatibility beforehand.

Perfect Setup for My New 2025 Toyota 4Runner Limited and Vantrue Dash Cam
I just installed this Dongar adapter in my 2025 4Runner Limited for my dash cam, and I couldn't be happier with how it turned out. I was dreading running wires all over the place or messing with the fuse box, but this thing made it super simple. Installation took maybe 10 minutes. Just unplugged my rearview mirror, plugged this adapter in, then plugged the mirror back into it. That's it. The whole thing tucks up behind the mirror so you can't even see it. Looks totally clean and factory, which I really appreciate. The parking mode options are what sold me on this. I've been using the timed mode when I'm out running errands or grabbing lunch, and it's nice knowing my dash cam is still recording for a few hours after I park. Haven't had any issues with a dead battery either, which was my main concern. The adapter seems to monitor things and shut off before it drains too much. Build quality feels solid too. Everything fits snug and doesn't rattle or move around. I was worried it might stick out or look bulky, but it's really compact and hidden up there. If you're looking to add a dash cam to your 4Runner without dealing with a mess of wires, this is the way to go. Made the whole process painless.

A Clean Escape From Trim-Pulling Purgatory
Dateline: A Sun-Scorched Driveway, Recalling Some Godforsaken Summer Past. I remember the old way. The so-called "hardwire kit." It was a promise of a clean, professional installation that inevitably descended into a special kind of automotive damnation. It was a sentence to an entire afternoon spent in the blazing sun, fighting a war against cheap plastic trim panels that refuse to yield without drawing blood from your knuckles. The ritual was always the same: a desperate, sweat-soaked pilgrimage to the fuse box, a dark little corner of the car where logic goes to die. Armed with a multimeter and a string of curses, you'd probe and pray, hunting for that one elusive fuse with constant power, the holy grail for your unblinking electronic eye. And then, the finale: stuffing a rat’s nest of excess wire behind an A-pillar, a shameful secret of your shoddy work hidden just beneath the surface. It was a miserable, soul-crushing business. I say to screw that. All of it. Then this thing arrived. The Dongar Adapter. It’s not just a piece of hardware; it’s a declaration of independence from the tyranny of the fuse box. It’s a masterstroke of defiant simplicity in a world that worships complexity. The installation? It’s an insult to call it that. It’s a momentary diversion. You pop the plastic housing off the rearview mirror, a single, clean snap. You unplug one connector. You plug this Dongar in its place, a perfect, elegant bridge. You plug the original connector into the Dongar. The deed is done. The whole affair is over in less time than it takes to find the right screwdriver for the old way. It is a surgical strike. Clean, efficient, and brutally effective. Some will balk at the price. They’ll say, "I can get a wire kit for a third of that." These are fools. These are people who have never lost an entire Saturday afternoon and a pint of their own sweat to a battle they were destined to lose. They don't understand that you are not paying for a piece of plastic; you are paying to buy back your time. You are paying to preserve your sanity. This adapter isn't a luxury; it's the only sane choice. It is a beautifully engineered "no" to hours of frustration. It turns a miserable chore into a moment of pure, unadulterated victory. Highest possible recommendation.

Works great and thanks to Dongar support
I purchased a Dongar Pro for a dash cam installation on a 2024 Toyota Tacoma TRD Off-Road. I was looking for a better way to hide wiring and provide continuous and timed power than running lines to the fuse box. The Dongar Pro provides ignition on, timed or continuous operation when the ignition is off. Initially, I used the supplied 10 pin connector to the self-dimming HomeLink mirror. Everything worked, but it did not provide any continuous source of power for timed and continuous operation, only power when the truck was running. Dongar support was a great help. They told me there is an unused 5 pin connector accessed under the dome light cover that provides continuous power. Yes, there is, and the supplied 5 pin connector works. The hardest part was getting my fingers under the front portion of that dome light cover and pulling down. Everything always feels like it will break, but it came right off. The power wire for the Donger sticks out the front and is not all that visible with the cover back on. Now, there is continuous and timed power along with direct to ignition options to my dash cam -- all indicated by the different colored and flashing lights on the Dongar. It works great and provides an easy to implement power solution without running wires to the fuse box or an aux switch. Dongar Pro is recommended for both the product and support.

Great concept and plug-and-play ease, but adhesive fails in hot climates
This wiring harness made installing my windshield mount dash cam on my Miata incredibly simple. No hardwiring, no tapping into fuses — just plug and play behind the rear view mirror. It saved me a ton of time and hassle, and it works perfectly once everything stays in place. The only reason I’m giving four stars instead of five is the adhesive. I live in Florida, and even after thoroughly cleaning the back of my rear view mirror with alcohol to degrease it, the included tape just couldn’t handle the heat. It kept falling off. I ended up removing their adhesive and replacing it with Gorilla Tape, and now it’s holding steady with no issues. So the product itself is great — just be aware that if you’re in a hot climate, you’ll likely need to swap out the tape. Deducting one star for that frustration, but overall still very glad I bought it.

This device can damage your car
Folks, buy this product at your own risc. I am a very technical person, I don't earn commissions, but I feel that's my responsibility to share my story with the other unsuspecting potential customers. I've bought and easily installed a Dogar Pro device on my Lexus RX350. However, once I've turned the engine on, I've got a warning message on my my car's dashboard stating that one of my car's *safety* components is malfunctioning and that I need to immediately bring the car to a Lexus dealer for further investigations. My car is quite new and kept in perfect condition, so one could imagine the shock I've suffered. I have immediately turned the engine off, removed the device, and then tested the car again. Sure enough, the warning on the dash- went away! A day later, replaced the defective Dongar device with a similar one from another brand, bought also from Amazon. With the new device, everything is woking now like a charm, no problem at all. The morale is that I feel myself a very lucky man after dodging what looked like a giant bullet. I don't know whether the problem was caused by this particular item that was faulty or it's a fundamental design or manufacturing problem that needs to be addressed.

Less than 10 minutes to install.
This was an extremely quick install that was totally painless. It came with 3 different connection cabels and a USB cord. Literally the hardest part was removing the 3M tape protector (I gave up and removed it and used it a different 2 sided tape). Installed in a 2021 Toyota Highlander XLE

2019 Toyota Rav4 Limited DOES WORK!!!
I contacted DONGAR Support and let them know so hopefully they can update their list of cars that the DongarPro is compatible with. I have a 2019 Toyota Rav4 Limited. I didn't know if this would work so I reached out to support. They let me know that if my rearview mirror has garage door opener buttons on it (which it does) then I may be able to give it a try. I am so glad that I did. The DongarPro Installation was extremely simple. After popping the plastic protector away from the rearview mirror, I unplugged the connector that was already there, plugged in the DongarPro, and then plugged the rearview mirror back into the female end of the DongarPro cable. From there, I turned on the car to make sure that my rearview mirror still received power and it did. The installation itself after finagling the wiring back into the plastic protector was maybe 5-7 minutes it didn't take long at all. It would take less time if your rearview plastic doesn't give you a hard time like mine did. From here, I made sure my dashcams worked before running wiring (I got the Viofo A229Plus on Black Friday sale so the cams were not installed yet) with the DongarPro I didn't have to hardwire my dashcam to my car and it made the process VERY easy. I just plugged the usbc end of the Dongar into my dashcam and it turned on right away. From there, I ran the wires, mounted my cameras and BOOM all was done. The parking modes are the star of this show. At first, I thought the parking mode didn't work, but then went into my settings of the viofo dashcam and found the issue. Be sure that when you get a dashcam, or even if you already have one, your dashcam has parking mode capability. From there, go into your settings and be sure that the parking mode setting is turned on. Once I did that, I made a test run to the grocery store, and sure enough, it worked. The two modes that are most likely used will be "Ignition" and "Timed" ("Continuous" mode just runs your camera 100% of the time until it detects your battery is getting too low then shuts off). So for me, when I went to the grocery store, I put the DongarPro switch on "Timed". Which records for up to 4 hours or until your battery is too low. I was only in the store for 10 minutes and was happy to come out to the car and my dashcam was still on. (I posted the pictures of the dashcam on, the car off, and the DongarPro light green showing that it's working) I went home and checked the SD card to find that my entire store run had front and back camera recordings of the parking lot. Additionally, when I got home, I switched the DongarPro to "Ignition", and sure enough, the dash cam turned off when the ignition turned off. I am very happy with my purchase!

Easy to install, much cleaner solution than running hardwire
Installed for my dash cam on 6th gen Toyota 4Runner. Works great, install was a bit finicky to get the plastic trim off (but that is the car dependent, not the product). Otherwise has been working without issue. Dash cam turns on consistently whenever car is started. Much cleaner than having to run wiring. Would recommend.

100% must buy recommendation for dashcam functionality
This works like a charm!!!! The definition of plug n play for the exact model of my car. Honestly it’s a bit pricey at 1st thought but for how easy it installs, it’s a must buy. The ease to get your dashcam installed without having wires all over the place and WITHOUT needing to hard wire anything to the battery makes this a must buy. Wish I knew about this sooner. 5 full stars!!!!

Parking Mode Stopped Working After 6 Months
The parking mode stopped working after about six months of use. I have been using the "TIMED" mode, which is set to record for four hours after the engine is turned off. However, the camera now stops recording immediately after I shut off the engine. I also tried switching to "CONTINUOUS" mode, but the result was the same — recording stopped as soon as the engine was turned off. The hardwire kit has an LED indicator that shows its status. The LED is red while the engine is running. After I turn off the engine, it changes to purple after about 50 seconds, then turns blue, and my dash cam shuts off. Shortly after that, the LED turns off as well. This product isn't cheap, so I'm very disappointed.

Car power adapter for Dashcam
Great Adapter – Compact, Easy to Install, Works Perfectly! I’m really impressed with the Dongar Pro adapter. Installation was super easy — literally plug-and-play with no hassle or extra wiring. It’s very compact and doesn’t clutter the windshield area at all. The build quality feels solid, and it powers my dash cam reliably without any loose connections or interference. If you want a clean, simple, and professional-looking setup for your dash cam, this adapter is perfect. Highly recommended!
