Maine's Most Scenic Roads: 25 Routes off the Beaten Path

Authoritative and well written, Maine's Most Scenic Roads has few flaws and lots information. The maps are helpful but they could have been aided (slightly) with a larger, overall map showing more than tour route at a time, for planning purposes.

I have driven many of the scenic drives in this book, and plan to do many more. I love Maine and I love this book! Very helpful.

This book was a great help to see sights we would have otherwise missed on our recent trip to Maine.

Got this book for my husband who grew up in Maine so we could make the most of our road trips on our annual return to Maine!

The stated goal of this travel aid is a good one. And, the drives described therein ARE quite scenic.But the author(s) have calculated UN-realistic driving times, included too few directions to starting andending points and have failed to note opportunities to create loops by following their drives. Perhapsfuture editions will address these facts. Should not be any tourist's only guide when visiting Maine.

We tried several of these drives on a recent trip to Maine, and found it to be very descriptively accurante and informative.

As a summer resident of Maine, I was intrigued by the title of this book and was hoping to find some off-the-beaten path suggestions. However, I was sorely disappointed. At best, these suggestions are minimally "scenic" and HUGE areas of Maine aren't even mentioned.
