REST ASSURED
I purchased this silicone iron rest for my 92 year young Mom. She used one similar to this years ago that was made of metal. I bought her this as a safety precaution where she can lie her iron flat instead of standing the iron up where it could easily topple over. This Household Essentials gives me a bit more confidence in her wanting, rather insisting, to do the ironing at her age. The pad itself was an "Amazon Choice" and I can see why. It's nice and thick and has a textured surface that is simpler to prevent the iron from slipping. It's generous in size and should fit all standard irons. I'm pleased, my Mom is pleased, and I believe you will be too!!

Iron rest
Finally done with replacing ironing board covers because I've burned through the material. Years ago we could get those silver ones and I kept looking and never found but recently found this. Works fine. My only very tiny objection is they show it with iron face down. I put my iron up on end or the water pours out. Anyway, when it's up on end, it's not totally stable since it has bumps. The bumps are for when it's face down. Turning it over is not an option. A better option would be to maybe have higher edges for those that want to put it face down and leave the center smooth

Good product.
This ironing pad is a good product. I do not have a dedicated ironing table and use it on my study table. Servers its purpose well. There is no heat transfer to the table even after extended period of usage.

How did I iron without this before?????
This is one of those very simple, but very basic products that makes a huge improvement in your life. I've dropped my iron while I adjusting a shirt or a pair of pants on the ironing board. One time, it fell on the carpet and left a big iron shaped burn mark that is still visible. I also have a two year old that runs around while I iron his clothes. This product puts my mind at ease. I can place the iron on the pad and shake the board while I adjust my clothes....and yet the iron doesnt move. You can't go wrong with this iron rest.

Iron rest
This iron rest protects my ironing board cover perfectly .I wanted something small that would fit in my costume bag. Have used it many times when ironing costumes for plays and musicals. Still looks brand new.

Great Iron Rest Pad
How many times have you propped up your iron on the board, only to have it fall over? This nifty item prevents irons from falling over. It also speeds up ironing time because there is no longer a need to worry if the iron is secure before moving that shirt or blouse. Also, this little pad can take any iron's highest setting and still retain its shape, time after time. Metal rests retain their heat and can burn your fingers or arm. Not this one. This pad should be in every home. It's a time saver!

Best solution so far for a trying problem
My wife quilts. This means she has an iron set up for quite some time as she sews, irons out the pieces and sews some more. I like to visit with her, and am a notable klutz. We also have two large dogs, and a number of projects going at once. An iron, standing on the rests provided is an invitation to disaster. The Silicone Iron Rest Pad is impervious to heat, non-slip, waterproof, and lets the iron rest business-side down. It doesn't get hot and present an additional hazard like metal rests. The only problem left is that the steam iron is not designed to sit this way, and the water leaks out--not a problem with the pad. In fact, the silicone collects the water, so at least it is not dripping all over the place. Not a perfect solution, but, the best yet.

Household Essentials
I purchased the Iron Rest, but it serves no purpose. With the new irons that cuts off automatically when left for 10 minutes or less, there is no need for this item.
