Exactly what I wanted
This replaced my older, bulky ATX tower PC, just wanted to upgrade with something smaller that could handle a bit of everything and after reading bunch of reviews and watched several YouTube reviews, I took a chance on MS-A2. The size is proper compact, the aluminium body feels solid and I appreciate the tool-less base which makes it instant to open for upgrades. I already threw a second SSD to one of the three M.2 slots and there’s still room for more storage. It’s got a ton of ports, that’s very handy. I've been running a few VMs on it and doing some 4K editing and it's just basically chewing through everything without a complaint. It can get a bit noisy when it’s under full load, but that’s to be expected with this much power in a small thing, though the cooling seems to manage the heat well. When it's idling, it's fairly quiet, so it would be great as a 24/7 server. The integrated graphics are a bit useless for anything but spreadsheets, but the fact you can just plug in a full eGPU is a big plus (though you need to add oculink adapter to that massive pcie). A seriously capable machine, recommended.

A top-tier performance in a tiny package. UM780XTX and the new MS-A2
A few months ago, I was looking for a powerful mini PC for work and chose the Minisforum UM780 XTX. This is my original review:"I love this mini-pc. The UM780 XTX rocks a Ryzen 7 CPU that crushes everyday tasks and even lets you edit photos or game casually. Plus, it's super versatile - upgrade RAM, storage, or even connect an external GPU for crazy graphics power. It's also 'future-proofed' - packed with ports (USB4, dual ethernet) to keep you connected to basically everything. No need to worry about overheating, as the cooling system keeps things chill and whisper-quiet. Also, another important factor - the sleek metal body with a customizable top plate makes a statement on my desk. Don't go overboard with the customization though (see my photos). One thing to consider - price. This mini PC isn't cheap, but you get what you pay for - top-tier performance in a tiny package. The UM780 XTX is a beast of a mini PC, perfect for creators, gamers, or anyone who needs serious power in a small footprint. Just be prepared to spend a bit more for this tiny monster. Would I recommend it? Definitely yes, if you need a powerful and versatile mini PC. But if you're on a tight budget or need the absolute smallest size, there might be better options out there."I still stand by that review, and the UM780 XTX remains a fantastic machine, 5-stars from me. It's so good, in fact, that I've passed it on to my son, who is now enjoying its powerful performance.Minisforum MS-A2:As my own work evolved to include more intensive video editing and my desire to utilize my Sapphire Nitro+ RX 6960 XT GPU, I found myself needing even more processing power and expandability. This led me to purchase the Minisforum MS-A2 in August 2025 and I went all-in on the MS-A2, getting the model with 64GB of RAM. For the nitro+ GPU, I also picked up a Minisforum DEG1 adapter and an Oculink adapter which I mounted directly into the MS-A2's PCIe slot (see photos). For me, this setup is a 'game changer'. The raw power of the MS-A2 combined with the external GPU has turned it into a 'fire breather'!! I can now breeze through 4K video projects and enjoy high-end gaming without compromise. The MS-A2 has taken my mini PC experience to the next level and my son is enjoying UM780 XTX. I hope this helps.

Great item but useless support...
Im running it with a Ryzen 7950x and a rtx 4090 on oculink, this is the updated version so just put in the cpu and it works, temps are great considering the cpu is running at 100w, 86c single core 74 multicore, so far it has been stable !The cusstomer service is terible ! I ask a question and it takes 2 days and its a verry evassive answer or useless !I asked them what bios does this come with and can I get a link to a bios update and the just gave me a link to a usb c update..Considering that I havebough 4 Minisforum pc`s and 2 oculink dock`s I would expect a bit more service !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Pros: feels like quality, smaller than it looks, good cooling, 4 nvme and oculink port !Cons: bios is so bassic its surreal, I cant even turn the external usb drives when its off, cusstomer service useless !My conclussion is buy it if you dont need any assistance.Oculink how harrd is it to be helpfull ? all I wanted was a bios update and a couple of basic questions, like where do I get a fan replacement for the 790 pro.. I didnt even ask for a replacement..
