Great grew well and kept the grass down.
I was intrigued of the idea of a native plant that parasitically grows on the grass.I have a small patch of grass that i leave to grow naturally, so i was keen to try the Yellow Rattler. ( its name comes from the fact that the seed pods rattled and that would tell the farmer that it was time to cut the hay. I planted the seeds in late august, i would have waited but that wasn't practical. i firmly trampled the seeds in and waited for the cold weather. its now nearly a year on I've two good clumps of plants which certainly have had a visible effect on the grass. The plants are definitely Yellow rattler and Im hoping that that they self seed for next year. I might have expected more plants but no hesitation in recommending this to any one who wants to try some thing a little different

Excellent germination rate.
I sowed these seeds in Autumn 2020 in a patch of garden I am converting into a wildflower area. They germinated really well in the spring and made a good display of flowers through summer together with other wild flowers. I am waiting to see if they have spread and established this spring.
