Excellent Coffee Machine!
The media could not be loaded. Let me start by saying that a local gas station had a multimillion dollar renovation and installed $5000 coffee machines. I quickly got addicted to freshly ground and brewed Columbian coffee, but I knew I could go to this beautiful new EZ Market everyday. I knew I had to upgrade from my regular autodrip machine where we grind beans at the store and save them for a week. This new coffee machine with built in grinder is great. I actually love that it doesn’t have a brand name on it and looks like RoboCop. It has what’s essentially a touch screen that is super user friendly and intuitive to use. You can adjust the fineness of the grind as well as the strength of the brew.Setting the grinder with the alarm so that it starts grinding and brewing fresh before I even wake up is next level. I can hear the subtle whir of the grinder from bed upstairs but it’s not annoying at all and not all that loud when right in front of it.It brews slightly slowly so I set it to start 15 minutes before I wake but it’s basically average speed for a drip coffee maker.Basically, I love everything about it. The reusable mesh filter and built in grinder do mean there is slightly more maintenance than a regular drip machine with paper filters but that’s okay.I’ve only had it less than a week so I hope it doesn’t go kaput before long but so far it’s awesome.

Makes an excellent cup of coffee
It takes a bit to get it set up and learn how to adjust the clock, timer, and coffee strength. In the end it is definitely worth it. It is definitely on a par with more expensive grind and brew coffee makers.

Doesn't do the one thing it's supposed to, and badly designed
Coffee comes out weak despite our trying TWO different kinds of beans and DIFFERENT grind settings. There seems no way to remove the grinder for cleaning -- and the directions are unhelpful since they're badly translated from another language. The only way to shut off the heating plate so that's it's not on for hours is to UNPLUG the machine. And -- in incredibly bad design -- the water well is in back, meaning you have to turn the machine around every time to fill it, or awkwardly reach over it with a heavy full carafe of water. I CANNOT understand the lack of 1 star reviews, which is the primary reason I bought it.

Built-in grinder, pre-infusion technology, easy setup
Just-in-time, built-in grinder combined with pre-infusion technology makes it different from anything else. I brewed pre-ground coffee before and always kept it in a freezer to prevent oxidation due to exposure to moisture in the humid air. I never used the timer and had to get up 15-20 minutes early to brew coffee for the whole family. Letting ground coffee to sit for 6-7 hours in a paper filter exposed to a humid air takes away the aroma and adds bitterness to coffee taste. Beans are different. They are significantly less prone to oxidation and can be even stored at ambient humidity and temperature. This coffee maker has a coffee grinder on top of a coffee hopper. You simply pour water, add beans, insert a paper filter cone into the hopper, set the timer to 20-30 minutes before breakfast time and go to sleep. You can enable pre-infusion, it takes slightly more time to brew but you will get a significantly better taste. Coffee maker will jet small amounts of water-vapor mixture into the hopper and then it will wait for 2-3 minutes for ground coffee to bloom before it restarts the regular brewing process in this mode. This enhances the extraction rate without adding to acidity. Even though carafe is marked for 10 cups the amount of water it holds is the same as in my old 12 cup drip coffee maker. There are multiple grind and brew settings. I use the finest grind with the strongest brew for best results.

Love, love, love it!
Okay so this was probably a terrible thing to get in hindsight. Why? Because now we drink coffee every single day! We've been trying to limit our caffeine intake, and we were doing a great job, but decided to replace our separate grinder and espresso machines with this. Now, we literally make coffee every single day because of how easy this thing makes it. You can choose either whole bean or ground, but we just do whole bean so we can see the magic work while it grinds the coffee. It's super easy to setup and even easier to choose the right settings for the coffee you want. It hasn't made a single bad pot of coffee yet and cleaning it is a freaking breeze. Highly recommend!

Lukewarm brewing
The brew was hot to start with then the brewing turned to lukewarm within a couple of weeks. At this price there shouldn’t be any problems with the water getting hot.
