Great item, could be more durable.
I just received this item in the mail, and already, I have constructive criticism for it. Instead of a wire skeleton, perhaps something more sturdy, like lightweight ceramic, fiberglass, or steel pieces that utilize some kind of revolutionary magnetic joints. Eventually, my already beloved Spiderpodium will wear out and not work anymore, whereas magnetism will work through it all. I mean, sure, magnetism will interfere with devices, so maybe something else, but still, it needs to be something that lasts if I am going to shell out 17-20$ for this baby. Other than that, for now, the joints are fully articulable and, yes, the silicone will probably tear or wear eventually, but for now, it holds up. For those who have trouble with it stretching and tearing, be smart and don't abuse your spiderpodium, 20 dollars will never buy you something you can abuse, unless you get yourself an EOD breacher bar for an astounding 17+$, which is absolutely not comparable to this fragile contraption at all. Anyway, keep this away from young babies, Amazonians, I don't exactly know why, unless the baby puts it near their eyes...ugh, that painted a nasty picture. So keep it away from young children, and you will not regret buying this spiderpodium, should you decide you need some 'Arachnid-bling', this is the thing to buy. And take it from a bug man, it is cool, but dead useful. And it functions as an impromptu case to protect from accidental drops.EDIT: The top right joint on the Spiderpodium, the smallest joint, decided to break on me. Well, technically, it was my fault, I put too much pressure on it and -SNAP-, my baby is minorly crippled. But she still works like a charm, still spider-hugs my arm like some grotesque, yet cool, bracelet, and holds my gadgets with both arachno-style and sure tightness. I think it is cooler as a collectible than as an actual functional stand in some ways, but that is just me being weird again, probably. It has held up so far, and I will probably put it through a smaller, safer-for-my-ipod-touch-version of the same stress test that guy on Youtube did, just for kicks, and report back with my findings.EDIT: Breffo sent me a new Spiderpodium, free of charge, as part of their warranty. I am telling you all, Breffo is the stuff of legends when it comes to their customer service, at least for me. Someone else might have had a different experience, but it has been smooth sailing with them. They are cool people. If you need a versatile podium for your gadgets, Breffo's Spiderpodium is the way to go. I highly recommend it.

Ingenious perfection!
I am in love with this product! What a cool idea. I have been struggling to find just the right solution to hold my phone in my car- and there are so many options- dashboard mount, windshield mount, vent mount, cigarette lighter mount, even CD mount. Some of them are, quite frankly, bulky and ugly, others would not work for my particular dashboard setup, and most would not work for my phone (Nokia Lumia 900) which has the wake button and volume buttons all on the right side, and no auto wake feature from the touchscreen. Options at the local Best Buy were limited, so it looked like I would have to take my chances by ordering online and losing money if I had to return the item. Then I found the Spiderpodium and I instantly knew this was my solution. I had already decided that a vent mount would probably be my best option, but it had to be positioned in just the right way to have a proper line of sight and arm reach for me. I loved the idea that the Spiderpodium could be adjusted in a variety of ways, and also would work in any car- or on a desktop, monitor or even a bicycle. For that matter its use wouldn't be limited to just a phone holder, an ingenious device like this could be used for any number of applications. I read some of the reviews that the item was fragile and would break from too much bending, but I felt it was worth the risk.I wasn't disappointed! As soon as I got it I started folding it around my phone, and had it sitting on my desk before I put it in the car. That alone was kind of nice- but then when I did put it in the car I found that I had to adjust it several times to get it "just right"- and I didn't sense any weakness in the wires. It held the phone securely and it is easy to get my phone in and out. I couldn't be happier and will now be ordering one for my husband since he likes it too.

The Spider that broke my heart
I bought this about a year ago and loved it from day one. It reminded me of something science fiction related like one of the Shadow ships from Babylon 5 or maybe a Stargate SG-1 replicator monster. It freaked me out and I loved it at the same time. I used it for my cell phone everyday from the moment I received it and it was fabulous. It was great for holding my phone while on the bike to read eBooks, movies or prop up my phone to read recipes online like a mini cook book holder. I even hung my phone on my headboard when I had the flu to watch movies and communicate with the outside world always knowing my phone was safe and wrapped in Spiderpodium love.I loved and adored this product and then one day I heard a horrible gut wrenching crack and suddenly one of the legs I'd just bent was now hanging all whibley wobbly. I tried to figure out if it could be fixed, it was still encased in rubber so I thought but then the wire inside was revealed, where it had cracked it also had tore through the rubber coating so when I moved the leg the sharp metal was protruding out of it. It had become useless. Not wanting to give up on it, two days later I did manage to come up with short term solution until another leg goes. I cut off the broken leg with a wire cutter and smoothed off area I'd cut off so it stayed below the base in the middle and won't cut me. So now I am the owner of a seven legged Spiderpodium. It doesn't hold my phone as comfortably or securely as it once did. My love and trust for this product are gone. My phone has slipped out of it twice now since it became seven legged, but I've settled with what is left of it's use. I won't buy another as I'm sure it would only break my heart as well. I wish it was a better quality product. Obviously if you bend it enough times eventually it's going to wear out. Sounds like others here had less luck than I did for the amount time wise mine lasted by comparison. I guess making it almost a year I was lucky. If you can handle knowing that eventually something can only bend so much before it breaks and are ready for that day with a wire cutter then maybe this is the product for you. If you want something to last longer than 9 months to a year (less in some reviews by far it seems) and not break I'd avoid this product because everything that bends, over time will break. This is the perfect example of a heartbreaking product to love and lose.Update April 21st: Since I created the review I have now lost two more legs. I am reaching the end of it's usefulness if I lose one more leg it's going to be recycled sadly. I'd love to replace it but I'm afraid any future Spiderpodium's would just bend and break the same way. Sad really. It's saved my phone from breaking at least 5 times if not more.

If you can get past the creepy looks, this is revolutionary!
First of all, this phone bracket looks creepy as hell. Arachnophobes should probably never leave it lying around, to avert frequent heart stoppages. On the plus side, this thing is absolute genius. It's totally versatile, and should comfortably hold any phone on the market. The 'legs' can be adapted to conform to any phone shape with ease. It'll work as a phone stand for a desk or can be mounted to the air vent grilles of your vehicle. The wire core is very stiff while the rubber coating is slightly sticky to feel, meaning your phone will be held securely. One thing I expected with this product was that the phone would wobble when mounted to the dashboard, but not so! The design means that the structure absorbs the bumps and jolts of the car while it's mounted, giving a rock-steady display for the phone in satnav mode. This is a vast improvement over the rigid plastic sucker-pad type I've used before.Verdict: a quirky but excellent design. Once you've decided how to match it to your phone and preferred mounting position, you'll be impressed how something so simple can work so well.

Geniale
