USB-C charging is a standard now the same way micro-USB became a standard so long ago. The fact that you can get a USB-C capable battery for the UV-5R in both the regular and extended version is awesome. I got.this extended version because I had a USB-C regular size battery that came with my UV-5Rx3 but it ballooned after sitting in my car, in direct California sunlight on a 110+ day. Couldn't be happier though. I often forget to turn the radio off and sometimes the battery would drain completely. Now with this extended battery I just leave the radio on with it hooked up to a 5v3a solar panel and it stays charged without any issues. I only wish I upgraded to this sooner. High quality, fit could be a little better but it gets the job done. Secures to the radio without any jiggling, easy to use, easy to install, great value for the money. Performance is outstanding. Capable of receiving for well over a day and sufficient for solar charging.

Purchased this for my UV-5R8W and it’s a perfect fit. Haven’t tested battery performance yet but it arrived mostly charged and slotted right in to the radio. USB-C charger works perfect and also fits into the dock no differently than the standard battery. Much needed upgrade for anyone who will be using their radio a lot and need to be able to charge with something other than a bulky dock.

No complaints. Replaced my smaller batteries which came with the unit with this one.

Wow.. I've been waiting for this for years.. I had the original high-capacity BaoFeng battery, but could never find the high capacity, special USB to barrel charge adapter when I needed it.. and when I found it.. I never know what specialized device it WENT with! Now I can charge my high capacity Feng anywhere.. off anything I charge my phone from! This makes my Feng sooo much more useful.. I might actually buy a second and third radio now for each of the cars and my go bag (which has a USB solar charger). LOVE IT! Thanks BaoFeng for finally listening! This is what free market capitalism is all about!

I love this battery. The USB C is Awesome to have on it. Runs for days without a charge. My only complaint is that it no longer fit in my Baofeng charging dock. I think there are 2 small plastic pieces on the bottom that won't allow it to fit properly. That's the only reason it has 4 stars. Otherwise absolutely fantastic battery.
