Adjustable
Brought this to use on our cruise and Hikes. The adjustable straps works well. It can fit both me and my husband and just an image I am 5’2 and he is 6’6

Doesn’t work
I exhale and no air comes out no matter where I twist it.

Honestly it is what it says it is

That said, I was never on board with "restriction training" breath in order to acclimate to cardiovascular health at high-altitudes. You know, those face masks people use on treadmills before going mountain climbing? In my experience, low ppO2 is not the same as low volume, because it the volume of breath affects you psychologically too. That said, something like this device can help when you need to work on exhalation strength and restrictions on flowrate.I also sleep with a CPAP and the most difficult thing I had to adjust to is the effort to *exhale* into the machine. This is where a breath training device like this comes in. If you use a CPAP and feel uncomfortable exhaling, then something like this can help you develop the mind-body connection with experiencing that exhalation resistance. I honestly don't think it's very valuable as a training resource unless you specifically have a reason to need to work with resistive breathing. This device has a small twist valve that lets you adjust the exhalation force to your preference. I'd suggest trying to match it to your needs (e.g if you use a CPAP) and then simply use it while working on the computer, reading, or something like that. I see this kind of product as a tool to help with the anxiety of overcoming that breathing resistance, rather than as an exercise device because, again, low ppO2 on a mountain is not the same as low volume at sea level.

Decent for Light Workouts, But Not Very Strong
This portable muscle trainer is okay for light resistance training, but if you’re looking for something with strong tension for serious strength building, this might not be the best option. The adjustable resistance is nice, but even at the highest setting, it’s not as challenging as I expected. It’s lightweight and easy to clean, which makes it great for travel or quick workouts, but over time, it doesn’t feel as durable as I’d like. Good for beginners or light endurance training, but not ideal if you need higher resistance for real muscle gains.

Not a professional level trainer
But it's still good for those on a budget. The ability to reduce the O2 intake and make your body work harder, for some folks, is the way to train. This allows you to do that with a little adjustment knob. It's not terribly 'scientific' in it's positioning (hence the 'not professional' in the lede. But this will do the trick on the cheap for you.Try it - if it's not something you can deal with, it's not a great loss.

Great For Cardio Workouts
At the highest setting, it does become a tad difficult to breath. But it's not un-usable. It forces you to breath through your nostrils, which helps with whatever's going inside the lungs. Great for cardio workouts.

GASP!
This thing seems to work as it's supposed to. It makes my workouts harder for sure. I think I need to use it when I'm not working out for a while to get used to it.

Takes Time if it is New to You
I got the Portable Muscle Trainer because I am horrible at breathing during exercise. I must say as a non-athlete I felt a bit weird about it especially using it at my complex gym. After a few times of using it I was still having difficulty. For the price, it is worth trying. I plan to try again as part of my new year resolution to do better with my exercise and can take it with when I travel and exercise outside.
