Learning Resources Gears! Gears! Gears! Lights & Action Building Set, Puzzle, Gear Toy, 121 Pieces, Ages 5+

I researched this from every angle and every distributor. My grandson was turning 4 and his sister 2 1/2. I ordered both the basic 150 and the Lights, Action one which says 5 yr. old. Both kids love it; so do their parents! They are building,learning.. I can see the 4 yr. old's eyes light up and another idea is tried and another discovery made, etc. It's amazing what the kids can make and both are so fascinated with it, they never argue over parts. I am really impressed with the colorful, sturdy boxes to store their gears in. Good job! I will be ordering more as I realized the different sets interact with each other! Excellent! Encourages creativity; makes them smile and take delight in their own selves; the parts are perfectly sized for toddlers.

My 7 year old nephew couldn’t wait to open this, he loved it and loved that it had a remote control to put his gear set into motion. Great buy!

My 5yo begged and begged for this set after playing with it at our local library. The remote and lights work great, but the stickers just will not stick to the gears as they should. We’ve already lost 3 stickers as they just started peeling off on their own. It’s disappointing because the stickers glow in the dark so you lose a bit of that cool factor. Other than that it’s a great set of gears with a cool motor feature that provides a lot of playtime.

As far as 'building toys' go, this is a great one! My 3 yr old can lay them out on all the base pieces while the 5 yr old can build towers. Our 'remote' broke not so long after we got it which was annoying. Even when it worked, you couldn't hook it up to too large of a structure b/c the little motor wasn't strong enough to turn them. The kids REALLY enjoyed the blinking lights, but the glow in the dark stickers are silly. They're just nice decorations, they don't actually 'glow' very much at all. Overall, I recco this toy the kids really do enjoy building with it!

My 4 year old son was making his own gears out of his Trios, so we decided to buy him this product. I chose this based on the reviews, and I'm glad that we purchased it.Pros: We've had them for over a month and he's played with them for hours. Also, he's come up with some amazing configurations. They are a great opportunity to be creative.Only con: We've found the battery operated remote to be very weak. It might somehow be user error, however, we find that it isn't strong enough to power more than a couple of gears - certainly not enough for anything elaborate. That being said, he doesn't seem to have any idea of what he might be missing, and not using this component has not deminished his enjoyment of the gears.I would definitely purchase this for him again.

This is so much fun! The only thing I wish is that we had more!!! Works great, has four balls that light up and my boys 3 and 6 love it! Pieces are a little smaller than what I thought the picture reflected but totally worth the money. I'd buy again!!!

Really cool because it has the automatic component which is a great add on to the original gears set. As far as I can tell same quality as the original gears, my kid loves these, and it’s really cool to get these different style pieces. We also have a set which allows you to make a tank with wheels and comes with a plastic chain component, highly recommend combining all the sets for endless hours of play.We have a toddler so the stickers end up getting cranky old and mashed and not really utilized but not the products fault.

Instructions / examples in the accompanying documentation are pathetic at best. The set appears to be well made but trying to get a child started with the set is extremely challenging. They get frustrated trying to get going with it and move to another toy. I had the same experience trying to get it set up to do something that would impress the child. Lots of different gears and connectors but it takes quite a while to sit and figure out how to use them. A small leaflet indicating how to use each of the different components and integrate them into the basic system would greatly simplify and improve this system. I suspect it will eventually be a valued toy but it has a pretty steep learning curve with the current documentation.

Compré este juguete de piezas porque necesitaba engranajes para fabricar unas máquinas para una escape room.Las llamo Guibe-o-Matic en honor a mi abuelo que inventaba juguetes eléctricos con palillos, cables, y cualquier cosa que encontraba.Las piezas son de colores pero yo las he pintado para darle un aspecto 'menos infantil'.Vienen en la caja (tamaño cubo) un montón, la mayoría del mismo tamaño, bastante resistentes, también unas placas para colocarlas, muelles, luces, pegatinas, un motor con un mando que mueve las piezas en un sentido y otro... casi nada de esto último lo he usado para mis máquinas, pero vino mi sobrina de tres años a casa y se volvió loca con el juguete, y los mayores también jugando con ella. Es divertido y tiene muchas posibilidades de montaje.El envío llego a tiempo y de precio asequible.

Les engrenages lumineux permette aussi de jouer et tester dans le noir, ce qui ajoute au jeu.Seul bémol : il est un peu bruyant et le moteur peine un peu quand il y a trop d'engrenage.
