Lafuma LFM4020-8548 R Clip Reclining Chair, Seigle

I purchased two LaFuma R Clip Recliner Lounger Chairs from Amazon recently to replace a pair of older padded cushioned recliners, I was concerned they might feel not as comfortable as the padded recliners however they are very comfortable and the full reclining position is so relaxing. They are very well made yet lighter than my old padded recliners and fold down slimmer so easier to store away in the shed. The Seigle shade is neutral stone and grey shade, the fabric is strong yet looks quite see-through. I’m 5’ 6” and a size 20 the chair feels wide enough and long enough, my hubby is 5’ 9” and finds his chair is a good length too for his height. They are a bit stiff to push back to recline, but I’ve found putting my back firmly into the back makes it much easier to push back. It’s just the initial start for me to recline that’s a bit stiff. Going back down is easy. It has two locking clips at the side of the arms that work when put in a horizontal position, just check they are vertical before reclining the chairs. If I could improve these LaFuma chairs I’d add padded sleeves on the upper metal frame where my arms rest, I can feel the metal frame when in the full recline position, I’d also add protective clips on the reclining part that lifts up by your feet on the frame as it touches the ground. I’ve put plastic clips on from my older recliners to protect this area. I’ve since purchased beach towels to use over my new loungers which sorts out the upper metal frame I can feel on my arms in the full reclined position. These are small design issues that are outweighed by the overall quality design and comfort I’d recommend.

Solid, good quality, sturdy, stable frame, and the fabric is a kind of thick plastic/polyester mesh. When In the zero gravity position the lounger is incredibly comfortable to lie back in and it feels therapeutic to lie like that as it enables complete relaxation. The chair is also very comfortable in the sitting upright position other than that the fabric creases behind the knees. It really is a good quality item, and I'm very glad I bought it.

Everyone asked why I didn’t just get a garden chair for reflexology & then they sit in this. It allows the perfect relaxation position for the treatment; feet above the heart, & it’s comfortable & so easy to use.Ok, they first few goes trying to put it up it a little bit “deckchair on the beach in a gale” but once it’s up it’s great!It’s lighter than your average garden chair too so perfect if you’re mobile or just short of space & wavy it tidied up.Totally recommend this!!

As you would expect from Lafuma, this is a very well made item, but it has its problems. The chair is comfortable and large enough that my ankles are not resting on the bottom bar. The r-clip system is very good and should last a lot longer than the bungee cord types. However the whole is spoiled by the design of the armrests. Firstly they are very thin (about 4mm) and with the rough edges from the moulding process are like blades - easily fixed, but at this price shouldn’t need to be. Secondly the joint where the arms meet the frame (see photo), it’s sticks out and presses into your leg.

Great chair, really comfy, they’ve dropped, lowered the arm rest from the previous model and it makes it better. Easy action to open and not too heavy. Had to replace the laces on the previous one after a few years, this is the new click system, hoping this will make it last longer.

Good product. We have had Laguna loungers for many years. The chairs recline and stay put without having to have ratchets which are on other makes of chair. Yes, they are pricey, but they last for years. Our last one lasted for 12 years, mostly being outside in the winter - probably not to be recommended. Finally the stitching, on the cover attaching to the rubber gave way. It will repair, so no problem, but it doesn’t owe us anything. The new one looks good and I am confident that it will last.

So comfortable, my 88 year old mother spends hours asleep in shade in the garden and can easily bring it upright again to get out unaided. Having her feet higher than her heart when reclined in it has hugely improved the benefit of resting - being better for her poor circulation than bed. Being portable another huge boon!

Very disappointed with this chair. It is certainly too heavy for me to easily carry in and out of the house as I cannot leave it in the graden area, and is only some 2lbs ;lighter in weight than the ones I could have purchased four of, for the equivelent price. Also, it is very stiff to recline even with the side restraining clips IN THEIR CORRECT position, and I can feel the strain on my knees from trying to push on the foot bar as it too low to the floor and too vertically under my knee position at almost a 90 degree angle. Unlike the men in the youtube videos I cannot get in the chair by opening my legs wide enough to straddle the bottom of the chair, even in trousers due to arthritis, and if in a skirt... forget that for stradddling! The only way for me to safely get into the chair is in its upright position and then the foot bar is virtually touching the floor and nigh on impossible to push forwards and up with your feet, necessitating you throwing your weight backwards to try and shift the chair into a reclining position, and I’m no lightweight at 13.5 stone and I find it very difficult to do and not good on my back. I also need a small cushion in the small of my back once in the chair as the bottom of my back does not fully make conntact with the chair back, even when reclining. Once reclined the mechanism to come upright again works fine. If you want to try this style of recliner, I’d recommend getting a cheaper (much cheaper) version first and if you get on with that and like the design ok, then maybe think of investing your money in this very expensive model. Also, you need to make sure the restraining clips under the armrests arein exactly the right position each time, as any SLIGHT accidental deviation at all to either side mean makes it even harder for the chair to move into or out of recline. Still thinking about whether or not to keep it. May return it and try a cheaper model myself. Or go to a DIY store and try a similar version out in the store first.

Ich liebe diesen Stuhl. Super bequem und leicht zu bedienen, wenn man ihn mal wegstellen will. Ich sitze nur noch darin.

La réputation lafuma! Support fauteuil relax confortable pour 1 moment détente au soleil ou en intérieur. Le coussin réglable intégré au fauteuil est très pratique. La nouvelle version sans élastique donne 1 look très sympa et reste très confortable. Seul bémol le fauteuil est 1 peu eau raide à déplier.
