I've been training for a half-marathon and the long runs have been leaving my calves and IT band in a state most evenings. Foam rolling was helping but it's a faff and I was getting impatient with how long it took to actually loosen anything off. The Theragun PRO Plus turned up just as my training mileage was peaking, and it's been a properly transformative bit of kit. The percussion is the headline feature and it lives up to the reputation. The 16mm amplitude is noticeably deeper than the cheaper massage guns I'd tried at the gym, you can feel it working into the muscle rather than just rattling the surface. After a 12-mile run on Sunday I spent ten minutes working over my calves, hamstrings and glutes and the difference by Monday morning was night and day. Walking down the stairs without grimacing felt like a small luxury. The heat attachment is the bit that's properly impressed me. Pre-warming a tight muscle before percussion makes the work feel deeper and more comfortable, less like being beaten up. There's something about the warmth that gets the muscle to relax into the treatment rather than tensing against it. I've found myself using it on my neck and shoulders after a long day at the desk, even when I haven't been running, and it's better than any of the lay-on heat pads I've tried. The vibration setting is gentler and good for warming up before a run rather than recovering after. The breathwork mode pulses to a guided rhythm via the Therabody app, which sounds gimmicky but actually works for that wind-down before bed. The build quality is properly premium, weighty in the hand without being unwieldy, and the trigger handle has a comfortable grip that doesn't fatigue your wrist over a 15-minute session. A couple of fair caveats. It's an investment, properly priced at the top end of the market. If you're an occasional user looking for a casual back rub there are cheaper options that'll do the job. And the battery isn't user-replaceable, which feels like a missed trick on a device this expensive, although the runtime is decent enough that it's not a daily concern. If you're a regular trainer, runner or someone with chronic muscle tension, this is the real deal. Wish I'd bought one a year ago. Highly recommended.

Premium quality the moment you pick it up, it feels sturdy and robust to last a very long time. It really packs a punch and you feels its power when using. It comes with different attachements each organised and stored inside the same case which is nice. I love the heated attachment which gives a nice therapy to loosen up tight muscles. Makes ideal gift would recommend.

𝗡𝗼𝘁𝗲: This is currently the flagship Theragun—it's not only an absolute powerhouse with superior stalling resistance, it also comes with 7 head attachments; for most people, the Theragun Sense (and half the price) is plentiful, but for those who want more, this will tick all the boxes. 𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱 𝗤𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 & 𝗘𝗿𝗴𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗰𝘀: It's without a doubt, incredibly robust and is really comfortable to hold due to it's triangular handle design which allows ease of use holding in many different angles. The size makes it reasonably portable and it does come with a travel case that fits everything in (massager and all attachments). It would fit nicely in a medium sized gym bag if it was something you'd want to take with you to the gym. It's also rechargeable via USB-C and the battery life is surprisingly decent (ideal bringing with you on an outdoor adventure such as camping, especially if you plan on hiking). 𝗔𝗽𝗽 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲: The App is where you get the most out from the Theragun. It has a whole variety of use guides depending on what area you want to target and the situation. It gives you visual instructions whilst also doing the timer for so you don't do too much or little. Whilst you can use it without the App, especially if you want to just focus on one area quickly, you'll gain more from using it. 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘀: Be it warming up your muscles, using for recovery or pain relief, it won't take long to see results. The price is enough to make any wallet cry, but the way I see it, if you're going to use it a lot, it's an investment for your body.

This is a really high-quality sturdy massage gun with all features you are likely to require. The massage gun comes in a nice quality neoprene type fabric zip around case with two sections. The rear section which just unzips halfway round contains the main gun and the front section which zips 3/4 of the way around, so it opens as a flap, contains the assorted alternative heads that can be attached to the gun. On the inside of that section are printed the names of the different heads and what they are best used for. All the heads attach to the gun very easily by sliding on and then a small anticlockwise twist locks them in place. Likewise they are removed with a slight clockwise twist and a gentle pull. The USB cable required to charge the gun is supplied. A cold treatment head is ‘advertised’ in both the instructions and the package but not included and is available at additional charge. Once ahead is attached if you press on the power button where your thumb would be on the massage gun and long press this powers the gun on. The gun automatically knows what head is connected and therefore which functions are available with that head. For example, if the heat head is attached then the heat function is one of the alternatives available that come up on the LED menu offered on powering on. When other heads are attached, no heat function is offered. If a vibration head is attached, then the vibration option is offered, etc. The gun itself is very sturdy feeling with a nice feel in the hand and a rubberised grip so it doesn’t slip around in your hand. When you hold the gun there is a sensor under what would be your trigger finger and this can detect your heart rate and biometrics. The power button is surrounded by four arrows up down left and right. The left and right arrows allow you to toggle left and right through the menu to select which variable you wish to alter. The up-and-down arrows allow you to vary the power of that option so for example the frequency of the vibration or the level of the heat it is all very intuitive to use. When Using a standard head the force and depth of the massage is notably significantly more than with many other massage guns. The heat function warms up very quickly and can reach quite a significant level to give a true heat treatment. There is also infrared light which can be turned on or off and focuses on the same area that the massage head is being used ok (almost like a torch). In addition to a comprehensive instruction manual, there are pullout crib cards that you can use to target your massage most appropriately for the desired outcome. For example, if you are tackling joint pain or if you are tackling muscle pain or if you are aiming for improving performance, it recommends different use of heads and vibration or percussion modes for varying amounts of time accompanied by either heat or infrared or neither.
