I was surprised to find that this unit will decode the satellite signals. (At least for unencrypted channels.) When we recently had to repoint our dishes for livestreamed content, we were able to see the test channels on this unit without having to go back inside to check on the receiver. **Q: Will this help locate galaxy 28 and 31?** A: Yes **Q: Does it come with a strap and is it designed to put a strap on it?** A: Dear customer, Yes, this satellite finder comes with the strap. **Q: Can it be connected to the dish without the satellite box and TV?** A: Yes, in fact that is the most likely use for it when pointing a dish. You connect directly to the horn of the satellite dish and the meter then acts in the same way as the satellite box (more or less) by allowing you to scan for channels on the selected satellite and even view them on the screen. ## Frequently Bought Together - GT Media V8 Finder Pro Satellite Finder Meter SAT Finder TV DVB-S2X/S2/S/T2/T/C Signal Receiver H.264 Digital Sat Detector Satellite Recognition for Adjusting Sat Dish - Universal Dual LNB 0.1db Polarized HD Digital Satellite Signal Receiver for Dish Antennas – High Gain, Low Noise, Weatherproof Design - Single LNB Bracket, Black LNB Holder Hold up to Ku Band LNB --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.hu/products/668526533-gt-media-v8-finder-pro-satellite-meter-sat-tv-dvb](https://www.desertcart.hu/products/668526533-gt-media-v8-finder-pro-satellite-meter-sat-tv-dvb) --- *Product available on Desertcart Hungary* *Store origin: HU* *Last updated: 2026-10-23*
