Very good PEC item. It's durable and easy to use. You can even buy more cheap PECS at Teachers Pay Teachers website to have additional PECS if you want to. This set is a good starter set.

My 5 year old autistic daughter loves this. Although it is a bit overwhelming because of all the options for her, that is one of the things that makes this so great. ALL THE OPTIONS! Wide variety of cards and different boards to separate for each subject!

The product itself is good, once you get it set up. Set up does take a long time because you have to punch out all the cards, and they aren’t sturdy or laminated on the back so they can rip the back off easily if you aren't careful. The main thing is that it is apparently intended for use in other English speaking countries as it uses words like “trousers” for pants, and “football” for a soccer ball. There are about 10-12 cards that don’t make sense for a kid in the US. Perfect if you live in the UK, but can be problematic in the US once the kid begins to read. But there are different color cards to go with different color pages/sections of the board, and a good variety of categories for the cards. I’ll be making some changes where I can but may need to make some new ones. They do send about 15 blank cards which will be helpful for those cards with different terms.

My grandkids use this visual aid when they stay over and it actually works really well. They become much more task orientated and life becomes much more peaceful! The set is well made, lightweight and simple to store. It has a stable stand and five categorised boards which work really well in everyday life. All the cards are designed to be easy to identify and are well crafted and very simple to use. It can be used to aid communication and includes emotion cards which are great to use if a child is overwhelmed, and some of the cards are aimed at older children so it’s something that will grow with your kids. It’s working well with scheduling and offers a variety of support depending on the individual child’s needs and the cards can be tailored to their specific interests or goals. It would clearly be helpful to children with autism or other developmental conditions but in my own house it’s reducing the chaos that is our school mornings and keeping us all on track! It’s fairly priced in my opinion and very versatile and effective. I hope you find my review helpful.
