Love this book!
I'm so thankful to the authors of this book that decided to write about all the hiking trails in Sedona. I'm not an avid hiker but I do enjoy an easy/moderate hike for the view and to snap some great photos. This book is thin and small and lightweight enough to carry around in a small backpack if I needed to refer to it.Each page is clearly titled with the name of the hiking trail. Under each trail shows the following info:SUMMARYCHALLENGE LEVELHIKING DISTANCEHIKING TIMETRAIL POPULARITYTRAILHEAD DIRECTIONSDESCRIPTIONCOLOR PHOTOS (scan the QR code for the photos)MAP OF TRAILI have never used a QR code before but just tried it and it worked! It took me straight to the photos of the trail! Amazing!!The back of the book lists the trails in alphabetical order, list of 20 favorite hiking trails, hiking trails by difficulty (easy, easy to moderate, moderate, and difficulty), hikes by feature (near arches, vortex, indian ruins, near water), shaded hiking trails, hikes for muddy conditions, and even discusses parking pass info and average weather info by month. There are cheaper books out on the market for Sedona hikes but this book has done all the research for you. I think its well worth it to pay more for this book. Also its written, printed and bound in the USA. That alone should seal the deal!!!

Great guide book, wonderful directions
This is a great book. The directions are spot on. I did get lost a couple of times on the trail around Baby Bell but it's not the book's fault, the trail just isn't marked very well, but when I looked in the direction the book said to I saw Rabbit Ears and knew I was going the right way. The driving directions to the trail heads are perfect. Except right now the Coffee Pot Trailhead has been moved for construction which is a good thing because now there are more parking spots. But the detour signs get you there. The trail definitions such as Easy, Moderate seemed consistent with what I experienced on the trails. My favorite was Fay Canyon. Absolutely beautiful! The photo is for Seven Sacred Pools at Soldiers Pass. A tip, carry the book in your pack, but take a picture of the pages for the trails so you can refer to them on your phone rather than dragging the book out of your pack each time you need to consult it for trail directions. You'll likely have your phone in a convenient pocket anyway since you'll be taking so many pictures of this beautiful place!

EXCELLENT HIKING GUIDE FOR SEDONA! MUST HAVE!
In Depth breakdown of over 100 hikes in the Sedona area. Studied this prior to my previous trip and it absolutely changed my trip. If you don't buy this book, you are selling your next trip to Sedona short. We happened to use the list of muddy hikes after a rainfall. We also made sure to stick with some of the authors favorites for most of the trails we hiked in our short stay in Sedona. I will keep this book in my collection forever (hopefully). We will definitely continue to use it for all of our future visits. SO grateful we had a comprehensive hike guide like this at our disposal!

If you are hiking Sedona, this is the book to buy.
After using another "cosmic" Sedona guidebook for years, I bought this book after noticing trails that were not listed. I spent 10 years trying to decipher a guidebook that isn't user friendly. I wish I would not have waited so long. Great Sedona Hikes is fantastic. It is so easy to use. Hikes are broken down into categories i didn't even consider. And there is a lot in the back to take notes. I have found more awesome hikes in the few months I've owned this book than I did in a decade with Cosmic Ray. Do yourself a favor and get this book. I would give 10 stars if I could. Love it!

decent
this is a great guide book for anyone looking for hikes under about 7 miles. I hike in sedona a lot so I am use to the shorter hikes and don't really need a guide book for them. I was hoping it would have longer hikes which is the only reason I returned it. As far as the quality of the book. Well that was great. Detailed, had greats maps, and was an easy look over.

Real handy
Great book. I used it for my first trip to Sedona. The weather wasn’t ideal when we got there but the book helped me coordinate some really good hikes with the little time that we had. The trail descriptions were accurate and tips regarding parking and crowds came in handy. I can’t wait to go back to do some more exploring.

Great guide book
We hot this for our trip to Sedona and. It was super useful. It gives you a break down of each hike and a lot of other useful information like how popular the trail is and how difficult it is. Gave lenghts of round trip and time it should take. We did a bunch of hikes and the information was very accurate. One of our hikes we kept losing the trial because it had so many other small trails. The book helped us to find out way.

The only option
Really the only hiking guide for the area, so it is the best by default. Adequate maps, good trail descriptions. Good review of difficulty, elevation gain, etc. Will know better when I get to Sedona next week how helpful each description is.
