Versatile tool
I use this for lots of things, not for honey bees. Idk why it's so great but it really can open locked doors and a million other things.

An excellent hive tool
I had occassion to try one of thes "J" type hive tools at our bee club apiary. I thought that it worked better than the old fashion pry bar type that day so I decided to order a couple and give them a try. I am sold. The "J" type is a far superior hive tool in my opinion. As to these specific tools, they arrived as scheduled and were exactly as expected. I have been using them exclusively for weeks now and they get the job done. You cannot go wrong with these tools. I would recommend them.

they work
Sure beats using three different tools a large screwdriver cats paw and a putty knife. If you use the hook and leverage off the preceding frame these style tools cause a little extra wear on that frame. The cats paw didn't do that but I'm sticking with these and just being mind full if there's a lot of propolis. You can use the flat end to pry it up which seems to work well. I recommend these hive tools and will buy more.

Reasonably Priced, Very Functional, But Sharpe Edges
We got these hive tools because the style matched that of the tool a guest was using and when we found them online, the price for two was terrific and we bought these as spares/loaners for guests when they visit our bee yard. These functioned just fine. The only real detraction is that the corner edges of the tools are sharp. That may not matter if your hand is in a leather glove, but the edges can do a number on bare skin or nitrile/latex type gloves. A few minutes with a file and we had the edges less edgy.

A COOL TOOL
Work great in the hive. Just be careful not to pull your frames apart... Do a good job assembling your frames. Use glue to create very strong sturdy frames for honey production.

Does the job!
I lose my hive tools on the regular so bought a two pack and keep them on site in dedicated hives. As good as anything else out there they do what they are made to do.
