It’s rare I give 5 stars, and I really mean rare
It’s rare I give 5 stars, and I really do mean rare, but the novels featuring Kim Stone & her awesome team of detectives are one of the best that you will ever read, trust me I’ve found a few bad ones during my reading over the years. This author deserves so much more credence and applause than she is receiving. The plot twists & turns are ingenious & keep you guesstimating with every turn of the page, you will be so sure you’ve worked it all out, then *Wham!* she hits you with a sucker punch of a new twist you never saw coming.I also rarely write reviews as such, with kindles and Good Reads I’ve found myself more drawn to using those functions to review as I go along, I mean who remembers at the end of a book all of the details you noticed while reading? A word to the wise though, my guesstimating & inventing my own plot twists can spin you around sideways! Oh and if you ever wonder what the term ‘little red fishies’ means in my notes, it’s my lingo for Red Herrings, something most readers know of.Finally, I never saw this ending coming, I won’t say why…Thank you Angela Marsons for your amazing gift as a writer & allowing all of us to enjoy it as well.Aroha no Aotearoa (love from NZ)

A star off for the ending and a few other minor flaws
I have followed this series from number one. This is number eight and it took me a little bit of time till I got into the book and could remember the characters. Once back into the thick of things the plot picked up. Set predominantly in a high-end boarding school, Kim Stone and her team are faced with multiple deaths of children from the school. Kim’s gut instinct says that they’re all linked, but some members of her team aren’t quite so convinced. This was a high energy, shocking and gripping read but didn't like the ending.

A 5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐MUST READ!
What an emotional and tragic story. Angela Marsons has weaved a story that is intense. This is a story of abuse, secret societies, intimidation and murder. It all begins with two sisters, Saffon and Sadie Winters - one popular and the other unpopular. When Sadie is found dead - there was a suicide note. When Kim and Bryant arrive at Heathcrest, They discover that she was murdered - they begin to interview the student and staff. As the story continues - more kids are murdered and Kim doesn't know why. Twenty-five years earlier a student named Lorraine was found dead in an empty swimming pool. Her death is somehow connected to the murder of Sadie and the others. Will Kim and her team get to the bottom of this heart-breaking story? You'll have to read it to find out!I did not see "who" or "why" these kids were being murdered - the story is so vivid and dramatic. The ending is an absolute tear-jerker so get your tissue ready! This is Book 8 in the Detective Kim Stone Series. I've read Books 1-8 and I found this story riveting. The characters - Kim, Bryant, Stacey and Dawson are people you care about. Angela has created characters that grow and evolve! I look forward to reading Book 9, "Fatal Promise"!!

Angela Does It Again!
Wow, as an avid reader I often stay up too late or run late to something because I just have to finish the page, section, chapter, etc. But KIM STONE cannot wait for anything. I literally devour these books from page one until the credits. I almost hate to start them, wishing to savour the story each time, but no, that's impossible. Angela's development of KIM and her cast are just as fascinating as the main storyline. I already can't wait until the next one, please hurry! If you haven't read one, do so right NOW, you will love them as much as I do. Great mysteries, awesome writing, intriguing characters and lots of twists. Thank you Angela Marsons.

Angela Marsons and Kim Stone are back and in an amazing book!
It's pretty hard for me to cry and type at the same time! This book was a shocker on many levels and as in all her books, Angela has hit a nerve on another pressing social issue- bullies, secret clubs and how we can all descend into Lord of the Flies. Am I glad I never went to boarding school, because this one is a hotbed of horror- and horror that spans generations. Filled with the most unsympathetic (save 2) characters, even the reappearance of Alexandra Thorne no longer shocks as much as these kids do. Kudos to Angela for making me feel sympathy for Alexandra- to be devoid of all feeling must be a horror in itself-and it takes a great writer to make me feel sorry for a monster. I loved the twists and turns, and like other reviewers, the ending left me shocked and sad and I also feel like I've lost a friend. And in these times, where lies seem to be the norm, coming down from the highest seat of power, the title of this book alone is a master stroke. If you have not read the Kim Stone books, do yourself a favor and start with book 1 and you will be hooked. Prepare to shed some tears along the way, and look forward to the next installment of life with this incredible character, who has more baggage than the carousel at Kennedy Airport- but you love her anyway.. Thanks Angela for another terrific read.

Hogwarts?
I really enjoy Marsden's books. They're easy reads but stay entertaining. This one was perhaps even better than the earlier ones. I like the fact that Kim has grown tougher, better able to handle herself in any situation. At first with this book set in an exclusive, historic British school, I felt a little like I'd entered Hogwarts--the houses of Hogwarts--and Spades was Slytherin. But that wasn't all there was to it. I'd just say to the author, thanks for good books at a reasonable price.

Verdadeiro page turner

Amazing, go for it!
The book is very gripping and picks up pace as it goes and is nearly impossible to put down towards the end. Go for it, you won’t regret it.
