Ceramic Tea Mug with Lid, Anti-scalding Handle Design Coffee Mug or Porcelain Cup, Great for Tea Lover Gift (Magpie)

I'm grateful I stumbled upon this mug during a sweet deal. The original price seemed quite fair, but frankly, I already own enough mugs to invite a small army over for tea as it is, so I can't in good conscience justify buying more without a special occasion. Luckily, Birds + Sale is firmly in the top 3 on my list of such occasions! Now that I've gotten my hands on this, I genuinely feel guilty for getting it on sale. It's an absolute steal at the regular price, and I have copious evidence to back that up. First of all, it's stunning in person. The decorative imagery is executed beautifully and generously covers half the base. Adorable birds and lovely flowers are prominently featured on the lid too. There are metallic accents among the vibrant and bold colors, and the elegant glimmer they give off in the light is just icing on the cake. The slight curvature of the base adds even more visual appeal. Though it has the look of a display piece, this mug is well-designed to the core to be fully functional. It has the same basic dimensions and capacity as a standard mug, so it holds my usual amount of tea and fits perfectly in my cabinet and on my cute coasters. The fancy handle is actually super comfortable to grip. Its built-in knuckle rest and the lid's handle both stay cool to the touch, and the lid fits just right. When I absent-mindedly wander away from my drink, the lid keeps my tea warm while simultaneously preventing dust and bug infiltrations. Though I intend to handle it with care, this mug really doesn't strike me as overly fragile, so I'm not too concerned with breaking it to enjoy using it. The ceramic feels thick, sturdy, and high quality to me. The mug has a nice weight to it and a good center of gravity too. I wouldn't put it in the dishwasher, but I don't allow my old, grumpy machine to touch anything I love anyway. Hand washing is a small price to pay to keep this mug in my life, and it seems quite durable, so I fully expect we'll grow old together.

This cup is just as pictured on the website and is a very nice, pleasant way to enjoy tea. I Was confused by the handle at first but then realized it is actually designed to keep your fingers away from the hot cup.

It’s tea sized but perfect for work. That way my coffee doesn’t get cold when I have to step away.

This is beautiful and very cute. Love the handle. I'm glad I can put it in the microwave to constantly keep reheating my tea. It is not a good enjoyment to drink out of for tea. This is a beautiful cup and I might drink a cup of coffee out of here. But I guess I am picky and I really want the thin China teacups.

but the inner perforated part lets loose leaf tea through the holes and I don't like that.
