I was recently gifted a Kindle for Christmas. I love the concept of reading digitally and find the screen easy to read and not too bright. The device is simple and uncomplicated, just what you want for reading. Various options of text available and option to add notes isn't useful for me personally but I could imagine being very useful for others (web browser is also essentially unusable). Battery life is excellent lasting for ages and easy/quick to charge when required. Very portable and just the perfect size. Large collection of discounted books available for purchase and good to know you are protecting the environment by not wasting books and preventing more paper production/waste. My only suggestion is that when it's pretty expensive for a solo reading device anyway, I'd expect no ads to be included as standard.

So I haven't had a Kindle before and don't know the changes/differences between this one and older models. But I can say it's completely levelled up my reading game. I have only had it a couple of weeks and read 5 books.I read a lot on holiday and have always wanted to read more at home but often put off by the prices of books even when getting second hand ones. There is also a wait time receiving them in the mail.With the Kindle the books are so much cheaper! I love that I can purchase a book and read in seconds. I have a list of books I want to read and just check when they go on sale snapping them up when they get to 99p. It is lightweight and easy to take any where. Unbelievable that this handheld device can carry thousands of books and take up no space when travelling.I also love the word definition feature! It was especially helpful when I was reading some victorian books. I have gone on to customise my Kindle too and love that you can get inserts and a clear case.The font size/no reading light at night is also amazing! No more keeping my boyfriend awake with a strong light and better for my eyes.If you are on the fence you should get one for sure!

I've never had a kindle before but I prefer it over books if anyone will believe me.Lightweight, easy to take around, nearly fits in most of my pockets, but I'm happy with the size I take it everywhere with me and helps keep me off my phone when I'm on the train.The only reason I'm not giving it 4 star is because they charge you another £10 to not have ads, I got the one without ads because I don't want annoying pop ups, they should have made it add free to begin with!Other than that its really nice, I love that you can change the brightness and warmth setting from 0 - 24There's another great feature called 'Dark mode' that is really nice to use at night.Battery has been very good, I've used it everyday for an hour if not more a day couple weeks and still got plenty of battery left.Very nice to read wherever I've taken it.Sometimes a bit of glare but very rarely a problem.It's so nice to be able to flick between your library of books without carrying them all around with you at once.Would definitely recommend this if you're an avid reader or want to start reading more.

This is my first ever Kindle e-reader and so far so good. I was not that of a reader. I would sometimes start and book and leave it before even finishing it. But with this device for some reason, reading is enhanced for me and made more enjoyable. I think it is the compatibility of the device, the user interface, the dictionary option, the matte screen etc. that makes it amazing. I finished a book of about 400 pages in like good two weeks with this device and it is so far my best record in doing so. I also got a sleeve for it alongside screen protector and a transparent cover making it look good too

Delighted with the Kindle because I have been trying to decide whether to buy one for at least two years and it was worth waiting for.I was finding that when reading Kindle books on my iPad, my eyes were getting tired and sore but with the Kindle this doesnt happen to me.The battery on the iPad took a hammering when reading a book but the Kindle battery lasts many times longer due to the paper display which uses no power when the text is on the scree, only needed a tiny bit of power when selecting a new page.The screen quality is great - again - better than my iPad for text and the Kindle is smaller and lighter than an iPad so I have nothing bad to say about it.
