Disappointing given brand reputation.
I was recommended these by a fellow modeler and I've been a bit disappointed. There's a good range of sizes which helps to use the tight size at the appropriate time - especially with detailed, small areas of painting. However it's these areas that made more difficult by a number of stray hairs which stick out away from the main bulk on a number of Brushes.I simply cut these off with sharp scissors at their base but for the price and brand, I wouldn't expect the need to do so.Certainly not the worst quality but certainly no better than others I've tried. Would probably look elsewhere in future which is a shame given brand reputation.

Humbrol AG4150 Evoco 0, 2, 4, 6 Brush Pack - Hair we go!
14-02-21 Having opened, but not used in anger, this set of four brushes i would make the following observations:-1. All brushes numbers are printed so small on each brush that they are hardly readable!2. One brush has a wonky head (off centre attachment to wood), which will make for interesting painting sessions!3. Two of the brushes appeared to have had the points (tips) of the brush cut and shaped by a blind man! I have since re-cut them to a half reasonable point.Humbrol, please address your product quality control process problem urgently.

Do not buy these brushes on a whim, unless you know what they do.
If you are looking for a fine detail brush steer clear of these, go for the orange detail brushes by humbrol instead, they are around the same prices and are better suited for the job.Detail brushes have better snap and will hold their shape. Now that that's out of the way I will say what they are actually good for, if you want to free-hand lines or paint up to previously painted colour divisions as part of general touching up these are what you want, they hold a lot of paint and although the snap doesn't line up with the actual shaft it will snap back into a bent shape rather readily, this coupled with the fact that the brushes don't tend to splay lends itself for doing line work. That being said I used the larger size for some general filling in and despite getting annoyed with the nature of the brush, they worked fine.Another brief thing to note is that my larger brush shed a lot of hairs on cleaning and very quickly lost its fine point after only a few paint/wash cycles, I've yet to see this happen with the smaller sizes, but if the large is anything to go by I'm not expecting them to be useful for much except occasional utility work when none of my other brushes will do.tl;dr Line Brushes, not detail/utility, lose hairs and shape fast, but nothing too catastrophic,

decent set of brushes for the price (no tip protectors however?!)
Arrived on time, well packaged and with Humbrol's usual quality, only disappointment is the brushes came without protective tubing to fit over the bristles when stored which was surprising as both Revell's and Airfix's own normally come with these as standard (luckily had a few spares knocking around that I could use so not a major drama). The brushes themselves paint well and hold their shape and tip well whilst in use so fine for detail work, will be interesting to see how well they hold up over time as are the cheapest brushes I've bought to date with fine detail work in mind. Still think its a shame they didn't come with bristle protectors for when not in use but maybe that's just me?!

Best brushes I can find for detail.
Humberol brushes are the best for hobbiests as they can tolerate harsh chemicals and cleaners.

of very good quality soft bristles
On the plus side these brushes are well made, of very good quality soft bristles. On the downside they are a little large for what I intended them for, miniature painting, and the ends are squared off, not tapered to a point. Probably great for doing things like airfix models.
