Edifier M60 Multimedia Speaker, 66W RMS Computer Speaker, White

Saw some YouTubers raving about these recently as I was actively searching for some speakers for my desktop setup. I had just recently returned a Sonos beam 2 because of its underwhelming performance so naturally I was also skeptical of trying these. And being somewhat of an audiophile all my life I am not easily impressed by speakers, sound systems, earphones etc, but let me tell you when I turned these on and gave them the first initial listen I was sold immediately. They get more than loud enough for my viewing needs and then some. Surprisingly enough they have more bass than I would expect from a set of speakers this small. I was thinking I might have to buy a sub to complement these but now I’m convinced that won’t be necessary. I am someone that constantly enjoys watching content and listening to music at high levels of volume and these have more than enough power to satisfy me at around 30-50% volume. Haven’t had any instances where they distort yet, not saying they won’t however I just don’t need to push them that hard. The controls are pretty intuitive just take the 5 minutes to learn them and you’re all set it’s that simple. I like that the controls are simply three touch buttons on the right speaker. Everything else you could possibly need is on the app. And while these are more than enough for my pc setup they won’t be replacing my dedicated speakers and amp with sub sound system for music listening, because that’s not what I got these for, but now having heard them I have no problem recommending them especially for the price point at which they are available at this moment, $150. Just get them you won’t be disappointed. On a side note packaging was very nice and they include several different cables in case you have different connection needs. They are very aesthetically appealing to me especially in white and they seem very well built with a healthy amount of weight to them. One of my favorite purchases in a while and I buy A LOT of stuff on here.

This was my first time ever buying Edifier speakers, so going into the comparison between M60 and M90, I thought that bigger would be better. That's not at all what I discovered. These M series speakers are not about comparing quality, it's about selecting the class speaker you need. Both speakers deliver extremely good quality sound but one is clearly meant to be the desktop speaker. If you put the M90 on your desktop, you're going to have tradeoffs. The major tradeoff is listening comfort and extended listening. With the M90's larger sound stage, the perceived clarity and loudness will soon give way to ear fatigue, overly controlling volume because you're like to get acoustic pressure or headaches. The M90's excel at TV setups, they even include a remote, so they're not intended for most desktop setups. If you work at your desk all day, it's important to choose speakers that offer the best chance at enjoying music for extended periods of time and speakers that are too large in sound are not going to achieve that for you. The smaller M60's by comparison allow you to listen to music on your desktop for much longer periods of time. As far as sound quality, you have nothing to fear, they are exceptional. I couldn't believe that such small speakers could deliver such outstanding audio on my desktop. With my custom EQ settings, I do not miss the M90's larger sound at all because the M60's are that good in terms of layering and clarity. The M60's make me feel I'm listening to music the way I want instead of constantly controlling the volume of the speakers. 5 Stars ! I will now move on to more practical reasons why I chose the M60's. First, connectivity. The M90's really are designed for TV setups in that they offer you additional connections like HDMI ARC, Optical, and Sub-woofer. Both include Bluetooth but there's a major caveat between the two speakers, which is standby mode. The M90's don't offer a continuous standby, they will turn off after some period of inactivity and you'll need to manually power them back on via the remote or rear power switch. That might be a huge deal breaker for some desktop users. The M60's offer continuous standby mode and it's not finicky at all. In the mornings I turn on music and the speakers work immediately, there's not even a warmup time. My speakers are connected to a DAC and my old Creative Giga T40 speakers needed a few seconds before delivering audio, the M60's do not. The same thing when switching between my work computer and gaming PC, there's no delay before I hear sound. It's truly seamless, I don't even think about it. The other reason it got easier and easier to choose the M60s over its larger sibling, was the controls. On the M90's volume and power switch are on the back of speakers. Yet another reason that points the M90's away from the desktop. Meanwhile the M60's have this high-end motion sensor with touch control on the top of the speakers that display LED controls only when you interact with it. This is fantastic and just makes the M60's feel that much more premium on your desktop. The M60s also include their own silver stands which would run you an extra $20 dollars at least. I plan to spray paint mine to fit my aesthetics. The last reason that I'll mention that made it easy to choose the M60s was their size. For as long as I could remember, I didn't consider myself a person that would mind large speakers on my desktop. However, the more I upgraded my setup with top level gear, the more I realized the size of speakers had to fit the vibe of the setup. When I placed the M90's on my desktop, they didn't just take up more space, they had a large "presence" on my desktop. It wasn't hugely distracting but I would compare it to speaking with someone who has very large ears or nose. It's not bad, it's just there in your field of view. You don't always look at them but when you do, bam! Huge. Yet, when I placed the M60's on my desk, they "knew their place", they disappeared from my field of view and didn't distract me. This is great while working at my desk all day, there are times I forget they are there, and that is a plus. These are all the reasons I am superbly happy with the M60's. The best part is that none of the practical observations have a higher benefit over the most important aspect of the speakers, the audio quality and sound. I'm shocked by how awesome these speakers really are and I can't recommend them enough! I plan to purchase them as a gift for a loved one. I highly recommend for anyone that has a similar setup as I do, to just go with the M60's -- you won't regret it. One thing I forgot to mention is that I did look at the MR 4.5 and MR 5.0. I would advise avoiding those speakers if you are not a real professional music producer. The hype online is that you should get monitor speakers because you'll listen to the music the way the artists intended it. I don't buy into that, the artist doesn't have the same ears that I do. I'd rather get speakers that help me enjoy the music the way my own ears do. Also those speakers come with studio hookups that if I don't plan on using, then why get them. They ruin the aesthetics of my setup. I won't follow the hype. Bottom line: The M Series speakers from Edifier are absolutely a monster buy, no regrets and pure love!

I enjoy these M60 speakers even more than 3 decent pairs I've owned in the past: PSB PS1, Emotiva Airmotiv 4s and Definitive Tech Inclines. And these cost less even though those were purchased around a decade ago or more. The M60s are also smaller (except for maybe the Inclines) so they take up less space. They fit perfectly in my setup. Since each speaker design is voiced a little differently, I typically expect to use an EQ and other processing to tweak them regardless of which ones I get, especially at this size. They just need decent enough initial sound to work with and these definitely produce that. You can get near audiophile quality from them if you know how to carefully adjust them and play the right source material. EasyEffects on Linux works very well, and the Edifier Android/IOS app work well enough. The bass output is indeed surprising given the size of the mid-woofer. Yes, it's not large-driver deep, of course, but more than sufficient for PC/phone/iPad listening for me. They are missing a sub out, so there's that. I've used all 3 inputs, Bluetooth, USB-C and the analog jack (through a DAC), and all work fine. The speakers have good heft so they don't feel like thin plastic like some PC speakers. I like the included stands also, but I'm not currently using them given the height of my desk shelf.

above and beyond for the price they are freaking awesome and sound just as good as my $1000 set of Klipsch Pro media just not a loud obvisley as they do not have the 8" sub and the drivers even close to the size as my Klipsch but for the size its insane the sound they can produce even the lows almost sound sub worthy but a 3" can only move so much air so you don't get the room shaking rumble but they can give you the low base at a modest volume and quality base mid's and highs to truly enjoy and know what quality sound is supposed to sound like

I just hooked up my M60's to my turntable today. And have only listened to it for about half an hour, so this review might not be so accurate in a month or year. Hopefully these little speakers will keep going for a few years at least. I am a newbie to the record player life, and my turntable is in my small room on my long ikea bureau. My turntable is the newest model of an automatic belt-driven player with bluetooth and a built-in phono amp from a certain decent company. It's a model for beginners supposedly. My room is so small, I knew I needed some little bookshelf speakers...hence come in the "multimedia/ computer speakers". I know these speakers are not the most perfect match for my turntable highest Audiophile listening experience. The bluetooth is not Aptx even though it is a 5.3 version. They do have an aux/RCA line that hooks up easily to my turntable and are still mentioned in the description for its usage. The very advertised Edifier speakers-recommended by record player enthusiasts for those on a budget would still be too big according to my measurements. I was on a very tight budget, and I didn't want to buy speakers the same price or higher than my turntable. All I can say, first impression.... I love them. I am not a speaker guru. But if they last for a couple years I will be thrilled. I have yet to play around with the Bluetooth connectivity. So that should be interesting. I got the white to match my all-white set up and room theme. They are beautiful for the price and feel well made. I thought I would hate the silver stands. But honestly, they look pretty nice and really cement the speakers on your desk. Very sturdy. It was a huge plus they have the look I wanted for the price, not going to lie. But the sound is spot on. Just how I like it. It's beautiful and crisp, it can get loud too with some pumping bass and still sound amazing. It's just really balanced and not muffled. Just how I like it. The one thing which makes me really really annoyed with them is the power plug. I do not think it is just my cord, but how they made it. It kind of sticks in magnetically, but it is not securely inserted and can easily fall off I think. Kind of delicate. At first I thought it would stick in at all. Makes me a bit worried how long it will last and all. Anyways love the sound...perfect for what I need and perfect price. Looks amazing. And they come with stands. I saw some reviews online that they shake the surface a lot, but on the stands on the same bureau as my turntable it doesn't do anything or affect the player. But I am not blasting them like a crazy person. Just hoping these last for a decent amount of time. The size, price, and most importantly sound are spot on. Would I spend $100 for a more expensive version from a different company I guess in the next few days/months I will tell if I made the right choice.

I haven't had my mind blown like this for probably a decade. Haven't even owned these for 24 hours and they're the best purchase I've made all year. WOW. I tried a couple soundbars before this because I really wanted a soundbar. I didn't like people saying soundbars weren't as good as stereo speakers. I give in. They were right. You can't reinvent the wheel. Stereo's been around forever because it works, it's just that simple. It's been figured out. These are really good wheels. I was actually asking myself WTF is going on and laughing like a child! It still doesn't make sense to my brain how speakers this small can make such a huge wave of sound! They're AWESOME and crystal clear. I wasn't able to find a volume where there was any distortion. I went as loud as I could handle and it was still clear. I was worried these wouldn't have enough bass but honestly in some EQ modes they have too much! They're crazy! I'm using monitor mode right now and loving it. Just wow. These were twice as much as the soundbars I tried but they deliver another dimension of quality. They look awesome but that's not just for show. These are functional first and foremost. The packaging was nice. Everything my fingers came in contact with felt premium. There was not a single moment I felt unimpressed, from the instant I picked up the box to unpack it. They are simply awesome, through and through. Edifier included the stands and the only reason I can find to explain that is that they actually care about their product. They took themselves seriously and made a serious product full of detail and care. Kudos ! The only things I would change would be adding a sub out port because who knows (looks like that's coming with the M90) and adding a way to change the EQ mode without having to change to bluetooth mode. But just cuz I'd change some stuff doesn't mean these aren't mind blowing. Life changing! Life enhancing. Highly recommend!

When recently I sought a new pair of powered, discrete stereo speakers (that is, each enclosure is given only one side of the left/right stereo audio source), I saw a market of products that differed fundamentally from decades past. Now the standard is summed stereo, mostly in “party speaker” products. At best, a speaker is designed to be paired with a second one to affect discrete stereo. This latter trend was started by the example of Beats Pill, I assume. It means buying twice the hardware and incurring complexity in software and connectivity, simply to have a discrete stereo pair. No, thanks! In that aspect, these Edifier speakers are the perfect compromise between traditional stereo and modern connectivity. You can choose how to connect (USB-C, Bluetooth or line), and the speakers adapt easily and seamlessly. It is impressive. USB-C audio was my initial interest for this application, believing that this would yield the best audio quality with a computer as the direct sound source. But in my first test, I didn't know how to raise the net volume of the speakers sufficiently. So I settled on using Bluetooth, which was loud enough and sounded pretty good. After a few weeks of that, today I tried USB-C again. I use a Mac, and this is what I discovered: In Bluetooth mode, the speakers' internal volume controls are coupled to the system volume setting; changing either one also changes the other in real time. In USB-C mode, however, the speakers' onboard volume controls operate separately from the system volume setting; as with a traditional stereo amplifier, the output of the speakers' amplifier (set by its internal controls) is decoupled from the audio source that feeds it, in this case the computer. Eureka. My long background is in music making, production, sound creation and design and so forth. With that perspective, I can report that USB-C audio definitely sounds better than Bluetooth audio with these speakers. By comparison, Bluetooth audio exhibits edginess, glare and sloppy midrange. USB-C audio is tight and relaxed, rather. I did not test line. Although these speakers' audio lacks definition and dynamics, for the money, as discrete stereo speakers in these modern times, they are excellent. The reviewer who mentioned that placing them with their backs several inches from a wall would reveal their true frequency response was correct (like bookshelf speakers actually used on a bookshelf, basically). That application is not possible for me currently. But if the speakers are on a table, you can test the principle by first listening seated in front of them, then standing and continuing to listen. You will hear an increase in low frequency response that sounds natural enough. Walking around the speakers in this arrangement will reveal more of this still. Update 10 weeks later: Used with my Mac, these speakers sometimes lose their USB-C audio connection. I haven't identified a single kind of condition or event that causes this, and the USB-C audio interface I use with this Mac never has this problem; so I suspect that these speakers are the cause. In any case, the only way I can restore the connection is to power the speakers off, wait a few seconds, then power them on again. I am lowering my rating here from 4 stars to 3 therefore.

If you have Desktop, adding these to you setup is a gamechanger. They punch above speakers twice the price. The only negative is the they keep releasing new firmware almost every other day and hence you need to update that else the USB streaming function stops working.

I previously had the R1700BT's and they had more bass but everything else was muffled and a lot of detail was lost. I noticed listening to rain in Cyberpunk 2077 or ASMR videos that half of the detail was missing entirely and could only be partially recovered by slamming the treble to the max! They were also very big and unsightly IMO, and dominated my desk. I opted for these smaller M60's instead and couldn't be happier. They aren't bass monsters obviously, but I feel they offer a really good balance of everything. They are also perfectly sized for desk top use and don't dominate over your monitor. With that in mind, these really are more for a desk and not for placing on a book shelf to fill a room. Great sound for the money. I suppose the only area they lack is the bass and in that regard my old Logitech Z623's were miles better with their sub and worth the extra £30. Obviously you are sacrificing a lot of space by doing that but that's the way to go for bass, rather than something like the R1700BT's which didn't really deliver sub-like bass and had other problems for their trouble. I've no issue with the touch controls on top. I'd always prefer physical buttons and dials, but appreciate the sleek and clean design. I've used them with my PC, Switch and PS5 Pro and they work fine. I set those devices to PCM stereo out when using these speakers.

Para todo aquel que, como era mi caso, esté buscando unos altavoces de una buena marca, estéticos y sobre todo compactos por menos de 150€, para mí estos son una opción prácticamente perfecta. 👍 Pros 👍 Muy buena presentación y accesorios Desde el momento en que abres la caja ya da sensación de producto cuidado. Todo viene muy bien protegido y con diferentes opciones de conexión incluidas. Además del cable de alimentación, disponemos de varias formas de conectarlos al dispositivo. En mi caso los utilizo mediante cable Jack 3,5 mm desde el ordenador, pero también permiten conexión mediante USB-C, algo que se agradece. 👍 Sonido sorprendente para su tamaño Lo que más me ha sorprendido es lo bien que suenan para lo compactos que son. Tienen potencia de sobra para un escritorio, el sonido es limpio y la construcción con recubrimiento de madera ayuda a conseguir una acústica muy buena. 👍 Incluyen bases inclinadas Puede parecer una tontería, pero para mí es un detalle muy importante. Los altavoces incluyen unas bases que los orientan ligeramente hacia el usuario, mejorando la experiencia de escucha y evitando tener que comprar soportes aparte. 👍 Diseño compacto y elegante Ocupan muy poco espacio y quedan muy bien en cualquier escritorio. Precisamente fue una de las razones por las que los compré y no me han decepcionado en absoluto. 👎 Contras 👎 El sistema de control no me convence Es el único punto negativo que les he encontrado. No cuentan con una ruleta física para controlar el volumen. En su lugar utilizan un sistema basado en detección de movimiento y controles táctiles para encenderlos, cambiar el volumen o activar el Bluetooth. Personalmente prefiero una rueda física tradicional, ya que me parece más cómoda e intuitiva. Os dejaré un vídeo para que podáis ver exactamente cómo funciona y decidir si esto puede ser un inconveniente para vosotros o no. 🧠 Conclusión Por menos de 150€, me parecen una auténtica maravilla. En mi caso los compré por unos 127 euros en una oferta flash y sinceramente estoy muy contento con ellos. Suenan muy bien, ocupan poco espacio, tienen una estética muy cuidada e incluyen detalles interesantes como las bases inclinadas. Salvo por el sistema táctil para controlar el volumen, me parecen prácticamente perfectos dentro de su rango de precio. (se puede solventar comprando un DAC aparte con perilla de audio, eso he hecho yo) Si buscáis unos altavoces compactos, bonitos y con muy buen sonido para escritorio, los recomiendo totalmente.
