The Lad himself
If you know Hancock then you know he was THE comedian in the 50's and early 60's. The streets and pubs were empty when his TV show was on (before the days of video recorders and box sets). This a collection of his radio shows included here are some of my favourites, The East Cheam Drama Festival, Sunday Afternoon at Home (if you're of the age you'll remember what they were like then) and The Threatening Letters.Great value, 20 shows on 10 CDS, if you don't know him I urge you to invest and discover what sit coms should be like.

Hancock's Half Hour Series 5
This box collection contains all of the complete episodes of series 5 of Hancock's Half Hour, plus the mini sketch recorded to coincide with the 1958 Commonwealth Games, which I first heard on Radio 4 extra in the run-up to 2012 London Olympics. Presented in a secure plastic box with the ten cds piled on top of each other, details include cast and credits and a complete Series 5 episode guide with dates of the original broadcasts. The 20 episode titles are as follows:The New Radio Series; The Scandal Magazine; The Male Suffragettes; The Insurance Policy; The Publicity Photograph; The Unexploded Bomb; Hancock's School; Around the World in Eighty Days; The Americans Hit Town; The Election Candidate; Hancock's Car; The East Cheam Drama Festival; The Foreign Legion; Sunday Afternoon at Home; The Grappling Game; The Junk Man; Hancock's War; The Prize Money; The Threatening Letters and The Sleepless Night. There is no booklet and only standard notes on the back of the casing. Of the 20 episodes, 19 have excellent sound quality, the exception being "The Foreign Legion" episode where there is occasional sound fragmentation but not too much to spoil the programme. There are some really big hitter's in this box set, most notably; "Sunday Afternoon At Home, The Unexploded Bomb" and "The American's Hit Town". These three episodes would probably feature among the top programmes in most HHH fans lists. Other really great episodes are; "The Insurance Policy" - particularly the bit when Hancock goes to be examined by a vet played by Kenneth Williams, the opening bit to the "The Grappling Game" episode which sees Hancock hilariously trying to put on a bow tie that always makes me laugh out loud - as always, it is the way he delivers his lines, and "The Sleepless Night", which sees Tony's attempts to get a good night sleep constantly interrupted by Bill, Sid and Miss Pugh. There are many other truly great radio comedy moments in this box set for which I have only given a taster. If you like HHH, then you won't be disappointed with this 10 CD package.
