failed after second installation
Like others said, poor quality. This worked on first installation fine but after recently cleaning my loop it came apart - I adhered the sensor to the nickel ring and closed it up but no dice, I wasn't able to get a reading.

Great temp unit.
The sensor appears to be well made. Install was simple and have enough to grab onto to tighted the fitting properly. The mostly black unit doesn't stick out making your custom loop looking odd. From what I can tell it reads the temperature fairly accurately. I don't have any tools to help support this. It also does make use as a nice spacer. The only downside is the o ring doesn't stay in place very well when you take the unit out of the package. However once installed I had no leaks.

Simple device, can easily swap in different generic probe wire.
Review update: changing to 1 star from 5 star. Reason: on install, it leaks at the provided o-ring installation point. Reason appears to be: included o-ring not sized properly for the o-ring “channel” machined into the fitting - doesn’t appear to seat properly. This uses a standard temperature probe which is literally wrapped around the pass through fitting. The probe is held against the metal (to measure temp) by the black plastic shroud, which is locked in place when you cover the outlet side of this fitting. You can rotate the black plastic shroud around the metal fitting.Benefit of this design is you can swap in probe wires from other cooling kits, like those that come with the Corsair commander pro XT, and use the native connectors which come with those probes.I’m using this at the outlet/drain end of a water loop, position and pass through design makes draining system at this fitting easy too.Mine came complete with the o-ring, which seemed to be a problem in earlier reviews.

Like reviewers, it leaks
Bought this for a new custom loop. Installed on the pump outlet port. The sensor does not come with a rubber o-ring, so I used one off some spart parts. Strike one. Installed and snugged up, no leaks when cold. After the loop warmed up it started dripping from around the male end. I'm unsure if it is simply because the threads aren't quite right or if the lack of a OEM o-ring prevents a watertight seal, but I removed this and chucked it in the trash.

Very cheap compared to competitors and missing an O-ring
The male connector side requires an O-ring that is not included. Without the O-ring it will not seal correctly and will leak. Thank goodness I used a pressure tester before filling my loop.EDIT: the last time I worked on my loop it broke. This thing is cheaply made. It's just a thermister that is held against the metal part of the fitting by the black plastic cap. I do not recommend this, especially when other manufacturers have much more rugged connectors for about the same price.

Did not get the item described
Order this item twice. Both time I did not get the temperature probe only a G1/4" plug

Extremely Fragile, and poor quality
First off, I do love these temperature sensors. However, they are poorly made. While installing the temperature sensor and running the wires, the leads detached from their crimp. I did not use excessive force, but the shrink wrap seems extremely loose. I did not catch the damage until outside the return window, since I was waiting for a few more parts that were back-ordered for my build.

Does not thread to a g1/4
I don't know what thread it is, or if it is just cut poorly, but the one I received will not thread to a G1/4. Maybe half a turn then binds up. The female side threads fine.
