High waist, sits high. Fairly warm. So not for late spring or summer hiking.Not as water repellent as say the prana or Eddie Bauer pantsComfortable but the high waist sit is strangeZip pockets are nice

Still an awesome pant; just not perfect
Pants, for the most part, fit perfectly. Randy Newberg reviewed the Sitka Timberline pants, which featured built-in knee pads. So I was excited when I ordered the Mountain pants because of the knee pads. Unfortunately, the top of the pads sit on the bottom third of my knee, which means if I use them, they’ll be cutting into my knees while stalking. Admittedly, I’m not the biggest person at 5’7” and 150 lbs. It’s just unfortunate genetics. However, I encourage Sitka to look at its user data to determine the average +\- 1 standard deviation in user measurements. I won’t be returning these but I do wish there had been a 30 Short option. Still an awesome pant; just not perfect.
