I did a lot of looking into a replacement MagSafe2 charger for my MacBook Pro (Retina 2015). I chose this one because it is compact, fully charges the laptop battery from flat once and has additional USB high power outputs for charging USB C devices etc. It charges my iPhone quicker than any other charger.It's also below the maximum battery capacity allowed for airline travel (must be kept in your hand luggage).I have been very impressed with the quality of the product and expect it to last for many years to come.Highly recommended.* Update *After nearly 2 years of use, this charger and battery pack are still going strong.

I returned this item made by Batpower, a company based in California, for the following reasons.1. A cable that was supposed to be included was missing. It is clearly shown as being part of the contents on the outer packaging and is the main cable to charge their Fuel cell from their supplied charger2. The Fuel cell does not seem to fully charge and does not consistently supply power to my MacBook Pro – which is the reason I bought this item.3. I have attempted to get some support directly from Batpower in California through their support page on their website. Whilst I did get a couple of replies, they were very abrupt and unhelpful. They said they could not help me with the missing cable as I had bought their product from Amazon. This is despite the fact they manufacture and market the product directly!4. In one of their email replies , Batpower did send by a link to a cable that should replace the one that is missing. This was a direct link to Amazon site. As it was low cost, I ordered it. I received the cable yesterday but it does not fit the connectors of the Batpower products. They clearly do not know their own product. So again, I feel very let down by this company.5. I subsequently emailed Batpower asking for an explanation why they could not even send me a link to the correct cable, and also, why they could not send me the actual cable – as it is a very low-cost item in relation to the actual cost of the item which is over $200 = over £160. I have had no response.

There are relatively few power banks that can charge Macbooks over a magsafe DC connection. This is an issue that is going to diminish with time as the current wave of USB-C charged laptops begins to replace the older magsafe generation.However, I still have a magsafe charged laptop, and had a need for battery bank charging capabilities. At the time of purchase this item was one of the few battery banks with DC output on a barrel connector, which is what is required to charge a Macbook.Initially this device worked very well. It was able to power my Macbook Air throughout a transatlantic flight, which was its main purpose. At the same time it happily charged the kids Nintendo Switch and their tablets.The charging unit for this is worth commenting on by itself. It is capable of charging the battery at 90W, which is a huge deal, and dramatically reduces the charging time from days to hours. However, it can also be used with the magsafe cable to power the macbook directly, serving as a replacement for a official Apple charger.All in all - flexible and powerful.The problem, however, is that the thing failed irretrievably 2 months after the end of its 18 month warranty period. The magsafe cable supplied failed to charge the macbook (the led light just would not come on), and the battery bank itself started acting erratically. The led indicator lights would turn off randomly, indicating charging had ceased. It is no longer possible to change it from 15v to 20v charging mode - even if the magsafe cable was still working.The customer support was certainly communicative, but ultimately unwilling to bend the warranty rules.This is not the cheapest device on the market, and it does have a longer warranty at 18 months rather than the more usual 12 months. Nevertheless I do expect my tech to last longer than the bare minimum period. If you must purchase this device, do not expect anything beyond the minimum warranty period by way of useable lifetime. That might work for you; it left me disappointed.Avoid.

Build quality seems excellent. The many options and cables included are impressive. Ability to charge the PowerBank and the laptop at the same time is useful. Adds hours of additional use to my MacBook Pro on the go. Good product!

I had been looking for something to charge my Macbook Pro on the move for a long time, and finally found this product. So far, it ticks all the boxes. There are all manner of ports for multi-charging of different USB devices as well as the laptop. At first I thought it wasn't charging the MBP well enough, but I realised I was interpreting the green flashing lights wrongly, and was also using said MBP whilst charging at the same time. The unit is quite heavy, but when you've got a backpack full of other portable stuff anyway (I also have a screen, backup disc, etc etc), you don't really notice the extra weight. However, if just out for the day and only needing recharges for my USB-devices, I would take my lighter alternative. I also like that it effectively gives me an extra mains power supply for the MBP, which serves as a backup in case my Apple power block goes and/or allows me to leave one power supply upstairs and another downstairs :-)

I purchased this portable battery for a trip to the United Kingdom. I knew I was going to be out in the English Countryside, and I did not know if I would have access to electricity.This product exceeded my expectations. It powered my computer and cell phone at the same time, and the product came with all of the chords, cables, and accessories I needed to power my devices. The battery life was long and as advertised, and the products were well made. The equipment also came with a wall adaptor, which allowed me to leave my other adaptor at home.Overall, a lot of value and high quality battery charging equipment in one, convenient package, and for a competitive price. They also offer a great warranty for their products. Would buy from this company again.

Cette batterie externe charge parfaitement mon macbook air de 2012. Jusqu'a 2,5 charges complètes. Cela me permet de tenir largement toute la journée en parfaite autonomie et aussi de charger mon Iphone. Je recommande vivement.

I have been using the BatPower ProE 2 EX7B portable charger with my old MacBook Pro for nearly two years now. I bought it because the original computer battery is meanwhile quite weak and i needed a reliable power bank for my frequent train rides during which i have to work intensively. Conclusion: I'm superhappy with my choice—the ProE 2 battery runs smoothly with my old MacBook, it recharges quickly and since I need it for travelling, it's a perfect compromise in terms of the power-to-weight ratio, too.

Elegant and reliable device!My only doubt was on the AC cable, since I am in Australia I wanted to know if I needed to buy a plug converter, so I contacted the creators which sorted everything out for me!Thanks to the efficiency of Bat power team I received the AC plug for Australia!I took a while before deciding which power bank to purchase, but in the end I do not have any regrets and I am really happy I had purchased the best quality device!Thank you so much!
