I generally like the Charlie Bigham range, albeit it's a bit overhyped, but I wasn't expecting how good this risotto is.It's very rich and creamy but without being sickly, while they've been very generous with the chicken and mushrooms.Big chunks of perfectly cooked tender chicken and mushrooms that have just the right amount of juicy greasiness.One to add to the regular shopping list.

Amazing but so much onion
This is an amazing ready meal but I find it too heavy on the slices of onion, the first time I had it I didn’t notice and it over powered the majority of the dish. Decided to give it another go this time spending five minutes picking out all the onion, as if like me your not a particular fan of onion it does ruin it.It is worth the effort as the risotto itself is just delicious, chunks of “proper” chicken (not like the reformed rubber you get in most ready meals) wonderful little mushrooms it is close to restaurant quality and a great starter for a dinner party when trying to impress your in-lawsJust wish they didn’t add all that onion, it’s expensive but it is enough for two people, or one very hungry one

My husband absolutely adores this meal and to be fair, it is good. Could do with a bit more chicken as it's supposed to be for two, that's my hubby says, but he's not happy unless there's more meat than anything else. This is so tasty and he eats it to himself. I'd say that would be a push for a lot of people, but he has a big appetite and this fills it.

Quality ingredients and tons of flavour justify the hefty price. Not 100% convinced that the eco packaging is actually fit for purpose, but you have to admire the intention.

Very average risotto
Lots of chicken, very expensive for a risotto and in my opinion no better then cheaper versions. I usually love Charlie bigham meals but this is average

Bought this as a treat for myself, and even took the oven out of hibernation! The chicken chunks were really nice, but that is where it ends sadly. Far too salty, and frankly underwhelming. I won't be buying this agsin..
