The Espressif ESP32-C6-DevKitM-1-N4 isn't just another dev board; it's a rock-solid reference board that's indispensable for serious development. While you can find cheaper clones, they often come with quality control issues that can lead to frustrating, unexplainable errors. I've learned from experience that these official DevKit boards are the gold standard for how an ESP32-C6-mini-1 MCU should be implemented. For any project, I use a strategy of buying a few of these official boards alongside a dozen or so inexpensive clones. The clones are my "sacrificial lambs" during the development process. If I run into an issue with a clone, I immediately flash my binary to the DevKit to quickly determine if the problem is a software bug or a hardware flaw. This simple practice saves me countless hours of debugging and is, to me, well worth the higher price. This same logic applies to other Espressif products like the ESP32-C3-DevKitM-1-N4X, which I use for my ESP32-C3 projects. Both the C3 and C6 are perfect for low-power, WiFi-enabled applications that don't require heavy parallel processing, such as reading sensor data from I²C or UART devices and reporting it to ESPHome or MQTT before going into a deep sleep. So, go ahead and experiment with those super-cheap boards from AliExpress—I buy dozens every month myself. But remember the value of your time and mental health. Having a reliable, known-good reference board is an essential part of a sound development plan. You truly get what you pay for when it comes to quality and consistency.

Yawn... Someone thinks this thing is worth more money but I have a hard time understanding why. WIFI 6 is not the ultimate rationale for the cost. So I regret my purchase even though it works just like any other ESP32.
