I wanted to move my microwave off the counter and onto the wall. This works fine for that and, as it says, folds out of the way when not holding the microwave. Although this is a good feature, I don't think I'll have need of it since it will always be holding my microwave. Works well for my little microwave and I didn't have to buy a shelf to put under it. A shelf would gather dust and need to be cleaned and with this, I don't have that issue so the kitchen is cleaner all the time.
