Strong good light
Not sure what the others are talking about but I have the same light since I purchased my boat in 2007. I even use it to fly my Texas flag when fishing in tournaments. "makes it easier for my buddies to spot me". the light pole is strong and has not broken yet. the only reason why I am buying a new one is because I am selling the boat and the new boat won't come with one... so yes this light pole is made strong and lasts a long time.

and good visibility at night
Bought to replace a factory original, fit was the same, and good visibility at night. Already showing corrosion on the terminals, probably normal since I'm using it on salt water.

Good space saving design for smaller boats
If you need a tall pole for a smaller boat, this folding design is a good option. The hinge mechanism works well. The base collar and the hinge collar do interlock together when folded to keep it together, but they don't stay together tightly, that is my only complaint.
