Cello love
This was purchased as a gift for my daughter. We were not disappointed. It is beautiful, well made, sound quality is perfect (and so was the price!). I would recommend this to anyone, new or accomplished.

Returning the product cost 1/2 the price of product
I was trying to get a inexpensive cello for a 7th grader. I didn't really want to spend a lot since going back and forth to school. I got the D'Luca on time, came right away. Not anything close to the picture. Was a lot different color, more orangey. The bridge was the wrong size and the strings sat directly on the fingerboard. Not playable as is, so I sent it back not wanting to put any more money into it. Since this is a third party, not Amazon, there is no free shipping. Cost me $97.98 to ship UPS. I also didn't receive my refund until couple weeks after I sent it back. I had to provide "proof" that I sent it first. Then when they did "refund" my order, they subtracted an additional $105.99! So let's do the math, I paid $529.95. Paid another $97.98 for shipping it back, and they returned the item for $423.96. So I basically forked out $203.97 for nothing. Not even sure it's back on my credit card. Very dissappointed. I am going to be real careful about Amazon shopping from here on out. Guess I've been lucky before this.JS

The first cello cracked after a month, the second cello started splitting apart at the seams after several weeks
The first cello arrived with a soft case instead of the hard case I paid for, finally got the hard case after emails/phone calls. In less that a month the first cello cracked from the bottom up the front six to eight inches. Returned it to get a replacement, a process which takes about a month. The replacement finally arrived, looked like it was better made, but within weeks it began to come apart at the seams, literally, in multiple spots. I sent pictures and they acknowledged the situation. Problem is that I have too many shows to spend another month sending the replacement back an waiting for a replacement for the replacement, so I just embarrass myself by playing a crappy instrument that is splitting at the seams in multiple places. This is not a reliable instrument on which to spend your money - try to find one that won't split or come apart at the seams. Photos of both cellos and the splits/crack are available if necessary, which were also sent to d'Luca just for the record.
