I feel like this is cool, generally informative and just a touch gimmicky. The test were good in providing a general understanding of your results, and definitely could point most people in a direction to understanding themselves if they have not started to do so already. I didn't find it overly insightful, which is a little disappointing. I feel like there's more that could have been implemented.

This kit made it very easy to collect a sample and send it in to the testing lab. You set up an account, then associate the specific kit's ID number to your account prior to sending in the sample. It took a little longer than I expected for the results to show up online, but that was just my inaccurate expectations. You're notified when the results are available, and you review them online. You are able to download a PDF of your results to keep with your medical records and/or to share with your doctor.There was a lot of overview information contained within the results. The genetic markers that were found during the testing were then associated with this more generic information. Note that in this context, DNA testing can show a "genetic tendency" towards a behavior or condition, but doesn't give definitive diagnostic results. As such, it was more of a reinforcement that I should follow common sense practices, and "may" have more difficulties if I chose to ignore certain practices.I found it to be a positive experience and the report to be a good addition to my medical files.

The swab test is easy to perform following the directions, and mailing it was simple with the provided mailing kit as well. Between them receiving the package and getting the actual lab results took 2 weeks based on the email notifications they sent. You have to create an account online to activate the test kit and later on to view the test results. Without activation, you can't just mail it in and expect results. There is no paper copy of results sent back, results are only online at the website but you can download a PDF copy from there.The test results, I found possibly a bit lacking in that the findings are a bit generic, and don't include something like the tested value and normal value range for the given test like what you get with blood/lab tests for glucose/triglycerides, cholesterol, etc. What you do get is an indicator whether you are average/normal on a particular category/sensitivity or whether you are deficient in it, or more/less sensitive to something. So there is some usefulness to it.Also to note that when I first received the product, it looked like it could have been tampered with or that it was shipped defective as the factory tamper seal seemed broken, and the box packaging was damaged. So I sent it back for an exchange, and the replacement arrived perfect as expected.

I got the nutrition version of this test. It was super easy to administer, the instructions were very clear, and it comes with a postage paid label to send it back in. It did take quite a while for the results to come back, but I did find them helpful. It essentially told me I'm lacking in B vitamins (which is probably why I'm soooo tired), and that I'm more likely to gain weight with carbs than the average person. Other things (not all encompassing, but others) that it tests for are salt sensitivity, sweet tooth likelihood, fatty food preference, etc. The results were helpful, but you will need to do your research on what to do with them next if you want this to be money well spent.

It does give you good information and such. I kind of feel like you should probably be seeing a doctor as well given if your having sleep issues they might be able to assist further but I guess you might could use this as a first step to start up the conversation and give the doctor the reports.
