I wasn't sure if they would be suitable for use on pavements with just a thin covering of frost and ice instead of proper snow, but I found them to be great. I have now had both and the universal ones are to tight to fit larger size shoes meaning thay are difficult to get on. These are easier to fit however they do not come with a valcro overshoe strap (like the universal ones) and can easily slip of as they did onmy first use. In fact I had to backtrack a mile to try and find it. Fortunately I have some straps from some old broken universal traxs which I have been able to use.
