Great for Autistic Children
I recently purchased the Montessori Wood Screwdriver Board Set with Lock and Key for my autistic daughter, and I couldn't be happier with this choice. This educational toy has quickly become one of her favorites, and it's easy to see why!First and foremost, the design is both engaging and user-friendly. The wooden board is beautifully crafted, featuring vibrant colors that catch her attention without being overwhelming. The included screwdriver and lock and key set are sturdy, providing her with a tactile experience that is essential for her sensory needs. What truly stands out is how this toy encourages her to focus and engage. I've noticed that she immerses herself in the activity, and the fine motor skills she is developing are impressive. The act of turning the screws to unlock the board is not only fun but also helps improve her dexterity and hand-eye coordination. It's rewarding to see her concentration deepen as she navigates the challenges posed by the locks and screws. The Montessori approach emphasizes independent play and problem-solving, which is exactly what this toy promotes. My daughter seems to thrive in this kind of environment, and I've seen her confidence grow as she masters each lock. It's astonishing how such a simple concept can provide her with hours of entertainment while also supporting her developmental goals.Furthermore, this toy has proven to be an excellent tool for building patience and persistence. She encounters challenges, but the satisfaction she feels when she successfully screws all the pieces in is palpable. This process has not only enhanced her fine motor skills but has also encouraged her to explore and experiment, essential skills that will serve her well in other areas of her learning. In conclusion, the Montessori Wood Screwdriver Board Set with Lock and Key is a fantastic investment for any parent looking to support their child's sensory and motor skill development. My daughter's joy and focus during playtime are a testament to the effectiveness of this toy. If you're searching for an educational resource that combines fun with learning, I highly recommend this set. It has certainly become a cherished part of our home, and I can't wait to see how she continues to grow and develop with it!

Creative, great learning tool. But what’s that smell?
So this is a great item for a toddler to practice hand coordination and over all learning tool. Very cute mini tools and very easy to put store all pieces and put away. My only thing, the whole thing smells, idk what it’s sprayed with if it’s just from production but the tools and screws leave a very odd, unpleasant smell on your hands.

I like that this busy board uses real tools and bolts
The best thing about this busy board is that it uses a real wooden board combined with real metal screws, bolts, locks, latches, and tools -- because my kids quickly realized that their toy tool sets weren't "real" and wanted to use my real tools to play with, but this set feels like a perfect compromise, so that can work alongside me on projects and learn some real skills without slowing me down. (I try to let my kids really help me with projects all of the time -- my daughter could even disassemble a chair or doorknob pretty quickly by the time she was 3 haha -- but there are times when it's helpful to be able to point them at a side project like this busy board and be like, "Okay, thanks for all your help, now while I finish this up can you do me a favor and fix all the screws on this busy board?" so they can practice with a screwdriver without slowing you down on the real project).A lot of toys like this use plastic parts or repetitively have basically the same bolts and locks up and down the block, etc. -- so its nice that this set uses metal and wood and a variety of parts. However, some downsides: Although my kids aren't likely to put any of these parts in their mouths, I wouldn't hand this board to really little kids unsupervised, as there are a ton of small parts here that would definitely be choking hazards. On the other hand, and older little kid is going to get bored with this board pretty quickly, as there's nothing to really do with it after you've taken a couple of turns putting the screws in, taking them out, putting them back in... As with most busy boards, the novelty wears off quickly. If there was a more puzzle-like element involved, or some secret storage departments, or some other shapes you could build with this, or something like that it might keep the kids busier for longer -- as it is, I think my kids will outgrow this very quickly.

Age appropriate for 3, 4, 5 but supervise your kids as needed!
The media could not be loaded. This is a hit for our 4 year old & actually 6 would like one too but hoping sharing will work! 🤔There was another review saying this was not age appropriate for 3, 4, 5 year olds because of small screws & possibility of choking and I mean yeah I get it BUT you know your kids best, are they awful at putting things in their mouth?...okay, then supervise them & don't leave it out for them to play with whenever they want! We are comfortable with leaving this out for our 4 year old to play with as she likes but again you know your kids best. This is a great toy for kids to work with their hands & just add some variety to their toys!!!That same review said likely more age appropriate for 8, 9, 10 years old and I disagree, I don't think they're giving kids enough credit, I feel like by those ages they would be full on building things!Nonetheless, great toy & if need be well buy another for 6 year old and as gifts for others! When ordered it was priced at $16.99, good price! Currently (10/22/24) listed at $19.99 with 10% coupon, even without coupon I would purchase at $20 - I love these type of toys for kids!!!

Not really age appropriate for 3,4,5
Due to the small screws I don't suggest this for toddlers. I'd suggest waiting until 8,9,10 once the "put things in mouth" stage is over. Some of the screws are difficult to get in and out and its easy to lose all the tiny screws thus the risk for swallowing, sticking them in light sockets, etc. Its a decent toy and a good learning tool, I just think the execution and target audience are not ideal.
