SunJack 40 Watt Foldable and Waterproof Solar Panel

I recently purchased the SunJack 40 Watt Folding Portable Solar Panel for a week-long camping trip, and it turned out to be a solid investment. Here’s what I found after using it on the go: Pros: 1. Impressive Charging Power: For its size, this thing delivers serious power. On sunny days, I could fully charge my smartphone in under two hours, and it handled my tablet and small power bank without breaking a sweat. The 40 watts really do make a difference for larger or multiple devices. 2. Compact and Portable: I love how it folds up. When folded, it’s about the size of a laptop, so it was easy to slip into my backpack. It’s a bit heavier than I expected, but not so much that it’s a hassle to carry around. 3. Rugged Build: This panel feels like it was made for the outdoors. The outer material is durable and held up well to dirt, light rain, and being tossed around. It seems like it’ll last for quite a few more trips. 4. When paired with a battery pack or solar generator, we had ample charge to power our electronics throughout the night until we could charge again the following day. Cons: 1. Weight: While it’s not unbearable, it’s definitely not ultra-light either. For short trips, it’s fine, but if you’re an ultralight backpacker, you might find it a bit heavy for what it provides. 2. Requires Direct Sun: Like most solar panels, this one needs strong sunlight to work at its best. Partly cloudy days still work but noticeably reduce charging speed. It struggles indoors or in shaded areas, so you’re out of luck in forests or overcast conditions. 3. Efficiency: As with all solar panels, there is some wattage loss by the time it makes it to the device. In my limited testing so far, with direct sunlight and overall optimal conditions, I was seeing around a 33W input into my solar generator. Overall Impression: If you’re looking for a reliable, portable power solution for camping, emergencies, or outdoor work, the SunJack 40 Watt Folding Portable Solar Panel is a fantastic option. It’s powerful, durable, and convenient to carry if you don’t mind a bit of extra weight. Yes, it’s a bit of an investment, but the quality feels worth it. I’d highly recommend it to anyone who spends a lot of time off-grid!

Feels very well built. Works great so far when tilted properly towards the sun. Good stand. A tad heavy. Survived rain so far. Folds good too. The fly in the ointment is the price. It's really too expensive compared to alternatives on the market.

This a very well designed solar panel, SunJack pretty much thought of everything and packed it into a relatively compact panel. It has two kickstands, a pocket to store accessories, the USB ports are waterproof (mine still works after getting hit with rain), folds up to a compact size, includes adapter cables so it’s compatible with just about any device. In direct sun I was getting around 34 watts from the USB-C port, making it able to rapidly charge any PD30 enabled devices. One downside is it’s a little heavy due to its construction and included kickstands, pocket and accessories, but that’s a good trade off for me.

Purchased the 40w version 7-8 months ago. It's heavy duty construction and design is worth the extra $$$ in my opinion. I wasn't going to write a review but then a week or so ago, it stopped working. Completely dead. I sent an email to Sunjack customer service and got a very fast reply. After a few diagnostic steps, he asked for my address and sent me a replacement. They stand behind their product. You can't say that for most of these companies today. Sunjack has my business from now on.

I guess I need to sharpen my knowledge on solar thing. I assumed all solar things held the power it absorbs. That is not the case. I also did not read the description before buying. It only works while the sun is out & you are using whatever device. I have yet to be able to try it because it is Fall & I'm not outside as much. Silly me, I sat it out in sun all day just to try it out.. 😆 nope. It does look great in quality, i love that it stores the cord & pieces in a zippered mesh pocket. It has a lot of plugs to use. But again, I am very disappointed I bought 2 and it isnt what I thought it was. Maybe one day I will need to use them & be more grateful that I got them. Maybe I will have to buy little things that hold the charge so I can actually use them now.

I just got both the Anker Solix PS30 30w solar panel and the Sunjack 40w solar panel and did a side-by-side comparison of both. Both in full direct sunlight no clouds in same exact location with sun at 1 o’clock angle (optimal conditions) C1: Anker PS30 only puts out max of 12.2w C2: Sunjack 40w puts out max 34.1w Clearly the Sunjack is a much better solar panel with nearly 3x the power output of the Anker even taking into account the 10w power difference. Sunjack 40w performs as described unlike Anker Solix PS30. I will be returning the Anker Solix PS30

Haven't had a chance to use it yet but with recent power outage wanted something to charge small items. Like rechargeable flashlight. It's about 40 wat . Wish I had gotten a higher wattage but others made in China and some reviews weren't good.

Solar panels never provide their rated capacity, especially over USB. This one is magic. It produces MORE. The USB-C port alone produces 33 watts. Using USB-C and USB-A together I got 43 watts from this 40 watt panel. That’s insane. The screenshot is after it got heated by the sun which reduced it to 40 watts…this panel is awesome.
