Literally changed my life.
I could not be happier with my purchase. These underwear have literally improved my life so much.I have PCOS, and I bleed a LOT when I'm in the middle of my period. I would use a super tampon and two staggered overnight pads, and I would have large gushes, or the pads would shift, and there went another pair of pants ruined, or another set of sheets stained.I was really curious about all the period underwear I have seen popping up lately, but they tended to run between $30 and $50 for a SINGLE pair, so I was hesitant to drop so much money on something that I wasn't sure I was going to like. I finally decided I would just experiment with cheaper ones until I could narrow down what I was looking for. However, these were the first ones I bought, and I'm not looking anymore because I am SO happy with these.Even with my extremely heavy flow, I can safely wear just a single tampon, because I know that when I have some leakage, the underwear will keep me from making a mess. When my first period began after I bought these, I put them on for bed with no other protection. No pads, no tampons, because my period was just getting started and was very light. I woke up in the morning to pee, and I was really upset when I pulled my underwear down and saw that my period had ramped way up overnight, because I was wearing new pajama shorts that I really liked. However, I was COMPLETELY shocked when I realized that my pajama shorts were totally dry and clean. The underwear kept everything in.As the week went on, it was more of the same! Like I said earlier, I have an abnormally heavy flow, and no matter what sanitary product I use, I have leakage. It is so relieving to not have to stress about getting to the bathroom just in time, or waking up in the middle of the night, because I know I'm going to be protected. Now I want to tell you how a typical day goes for me with these underwear. All I use is a tampon and these underwear. Once again, I have a heavier period than most, so I will leak a few times a day. When I get to the bathroom and see that the underwear have been dirtied, I simply take them off and put on a new pair - no more messy pants and underwear to try and clean and hopefully salvage. Because I will go through a few pairs a day, I've got two sets of these, and I'll probably get a third so I don't have to wash in the middle of the week. Some other things about these underwear:- The lining does not stain. After I dirtied them, I didn't bother to spot clean, since they were going to be used for my period anyway. However, when I put them in the wash, the stains came right out! I have the black ones with the gray lining.- They hold a lot, but they don't keep the wetness away from your body like a pad does. A pad tends to keep you drier than these do. So if you do leak into these, you're going to need to, at the very least, clean up with some wipes. I don't consider this a huge deal, but I thought I'd mention it.- Size up if you're flabby like me, but don't go crazy - you want them to be snug against your body. They are not the most comfortable underwear I own, because they are a little tight and my normal size was digging into my legs and abdomen. I ordered my second set a size bigger, and it was much better, but still a little tighter than I wear my normal underwear.- They are not completely silent. If I leave the house in denim shorts and I'm out and about, I don't notice any noise. But when I'm home wearing flimsier, thinner bottoms (think pajama shorts), you can definitely hear a little swishing sound.- Since I've had these underwear, I have leaked outside of them ONE TIME, just a tiny bit, because I must have been sleeping funny and the underwear shifted in a weird way and wasn't covering me anymore. I have not had a single issue with the underwear failing to absorb everything.- I have been machine washing them, no issues.- They are still shaped like a normal pair of underwear, so if you wanted to wear a pad with these, you could.I cannot stress enough how much these underwear have helped me. I used to be in the bathroom every hour or two, changing my two huge pads, changing my tampon, cleaning up whatever mess I made all over myself and my clothes. Now, the most work I have to do is putting on a clean pair of underwear.Definitely give these a try before you buy more expensive versions.

Too much info but try to answer real questions!
Five pairs of period underwear arrived in a pouch. I like the colors and the feel of the fabric. There is light elastic on the legs and waist so nothing digs into either my legs or lovehandles. Can you wear them instead of a pad? Well yes on super light days or when you’re almost done with your period. Here’s way too much info but I hope it helps. I forgot my diva cup. Between getting two kids a dog and a grandma out the door, my needs were forgotten (can you relate???) so I have tried these out on a heavy flow day on accident. Good news, no leaks. Yes, when I finally was able to go take care of business it was not pretty to remove said underpants, etc etc, but my jeans were not stained while out on the town. Would I do this again, def not on purpose but it does give peace of mind to know these are quite good at keeping bodily fluids contained, even massive amounts.Washing! I find the best way for me is to soak them in the sink with OxyFree to remove stains. Then I toss all five pairs in the wash for an extra clean. Yes, Im probabaly weird, but this is how I keep them clean and sanitary. The crinkle in the fabric is there sometimes or not. Depends on how they washed and dried. I don’t hear it and I’m not aware of it once they are on.They are fine under all my clothes. They’re kind of big, so if you’re wearing tight pants you may see some of the seems. For me, they don’t show in my clothes. Pants. Dresses. Whatever is all good. They don’t go up my bum either. No picking or pulling out. Thank goodness. These are not for everyone. My sister finds leak protection panties "disgusting." For me personally, I prefer not to bleed through my dress and leave a stain on a chair at work - now that is "disgusting!" I'll happily wear grandma style, plasticy panties for a few days a month to avoid a disaster and have peace of mind. To each their own:-)Overall I give these a five because I’ve had them over a year and they do what they’re made for. I’ve had zero leaks and zero stains on clothes.

They make the crunchy noise
They fit great and work well but they make the diaper crunching noise when you walk....

Simply put, these are brilliant!
Like other reviewers who have purchased this underwear, I suffer extremely heavy periods. Living in a house of boys and men and having this uncomfortable issue, it is difficult to retain ones dignity when dashing to the loo after a particularly heavy loss. Not to be indelicate, but early mornings were a nightmare. I usually have a 20 second window in which to reach the bathroom before the flood gates open and I am left in mortification outside the one toilet in our house, because it is occupied by a teenager primping his pimples. To be honest (and I'll admit to being a bit slow on the up take), I didn't realise such underwear existed. I was still very much under the impression that us women had to suffer our lot. It was my husband that urged me to try to find something to save my dignity and I am so glad that I discovered what I call, my bamboo pants. On the strength of reviews I purchased a size 14. My usual size being 12. I sent my order mid evening and was delighted when then arrived early the following day. They fit like a dream and although they have a slight rustle in the hand, once on and acclimatised to my body temperature, they are just like every other piece of underwear. Except better. These do not leak. Not when I'm walking, running, doing yoga, riding my bike or laying down clutching my tummy because it's a particularly bad month. They do not stain. They rinse well too and they are lovely and comfortable to boot.I've seen that some people have said they feel slightly hot or sweaty in them, but speaking for myself I can only say this was not the case for me. I love these pants. After years of suffering and several ruined mattresses (not to mention underwear and clothing) I have found something that makes everything that much easier. I am going to be buying more.

Misleading
When they arrive there was a note on the package saying they must be used with a pad / tampon. This kind of defeats the point of them and means that rather than actual period proof pants all you have are oversized, non fashionable underwear. If you read the full product description (as I did after) it does mention it but it’s not clear when you first see it.

Life saver
These have saved me. I have horrible heavy periods and frequently leak over my trousers or chairs. I wear these knickers with my normal protection and they have saved embarrassing leaks. Certainly make things more bearable.

Disappointing product with leaks and odour
Not happy with these. There are days when I am out of the house long hours so I got a pair for some extra security. I usually wear tampons but sometimes they leak and I thought with these I wouldn't have to worry about my clothes getting dirty. Well, I was wrong. They leaked, especially the sides and as luck would have it, I was sitting on a beige leather office chair. I was shocked and so embarrassed to see what I had done but I was at least able to get the blood stain out of the chair without anyone knowing. Since then they have leaked again and again but not to that extent. The middle part is ok but they leak sideways. Also they don't wash well. They have great big stains after the wash but I still wear them until I find a replacement. I really dont want to go back to using pads for extra safety. Comfort wise, they are soft but tent to cause a lot of sweat in the area and often they smell badly because of that. Not pleased at all. Forgot to say that when there is a leak, it feels like I am wearing something really wet so a real cringe moment. At home it's easy to put on my other pair but when I am out I have to suck it up and continue to feel wet until I go back. I am happy I didn't buy more.

So far they are brilliant!
I bought these as was so fed up of ruining and staining knickers. Yes they are like big granny pants - sorry if any grannies reading this are deeply offended as they usually wear thongs ;). But they are very comfortable, I find disposable sanitary pads very uncomfortable/irritating and I had switched to cloth pads a while ago as I'm keen to try reusable menstrual products. But although cloth pads are great I'll sometimes leak on heavier nights and they are too bulky when it comes to the end of my period/spotting. I wore these pants at the end of my period, where I had some light bleeding, and there's no leakage and it absorbs really well and I feel completely dry! I'll also most likely wear these to prevent leaks on my heavier days either with a cloth pad or a menstrual cup.
