Quality
Well built. Refer to a few videos before using. Clearly the bad review is from someone who doesn’t know what he’s doing. The “gap” he has alluded to is necessary to stop the blade from cutting into the shooting board. To eliminate tear out you have to chamfer the opposing end. It’s just what occurs when planing end grain. It’s a well made shooting board. I use mine regularly. Great for squaring up ends.

Do not waste your money
This looks like it was put together in a middle school wood shop. The cuts were ragged and the layout lines were still present. There is tear out ALL OVER. This has poor sanding and lumps of laquer left to cure on the board. The 45 degree piece doesnt sit tight because the edge is rounded slightly. There is an 8th inch gap from plane body to the stop fence, so you WILL get tear out unfortunately. Over all this is worth 20 bucks but I paid 8 times that. Dont make the same mistake!
