Used on my 05 BMW 4.4l V8 to change the valve seals with the heads and engine in the car.This tool is very flexible and allows the handle to be located at an unobstructed place, while the spring compressor part can be slid under the cowl for the back cylinders. There are plenty of quick and easy to use adjustments for every piece, the compression rod, the fulcrum rod and the handle. The handle will also accommodate a 3/8" ratchet or breaker bar for heavy springs. Its hard to imagine this not fitting most any application. I removed the cams and put the cam bearing caps back on and placed the bar mounting pieces on top of the bearing caps to prevent damaging the bearing races.

I thought I was buying an American made tool since it was from Schley. This tool was a lot more expensive than other comparable units so I was unhappy to see Made in China. I wanted to use it on a Honda Civic which is hardly an obscure model. You would think it would bolt right up to such a common engine but it didn't. I had to do a lot of careful grinding to get it to fit. Once I finally got it mounted, it did work well and I was able to replace all the valve stem seals.

Required some additional hardware which is why the 4 star. But worked awesome to put my chrysler 2.4 head back together. I suggest clamping the head to your work bench to keep it from trying to flip over.

Work amazingly well! Saved me hours of labor to pull the head an $ for head gasket and head bolts. Will be using it again very soon!!!

Great kit. Use it on BMW V8 engines.

Use this for overhead cam engines.
