Get wired the right way
I use this coated wire rope to support camping tent rain-flies, as guy-wire for an awning over my camping van, to string camp lights, and I use it with a pulley to lower pond cleaning / aeration equipment into bodies of water. It is very smooth and very strong, always reliable. Using anything larger would be overkill, more expensive and harder to stow. I highly recommend this size and this brand.

worked for its intended purpose
I used this to hang string lights in a gazebo. It isn't heavy duty, but I wasn't looking for anything like that. It merely needed to help hold the lights up. Worked perfectly for it's intended purpose.

High strength, vinyl coated steel wire that will last for years
This wire matched the description and product images, and it measured out to slightly over the length that I ordered, which is a nice bonus. I appreciate the steel crimps that come with it to help you attach it to itself in case you need to cut it for your use case. The only complaint I have is a minor one: I'd like to see a clamp of some kind incorporated into the spool to hold the cable, because it can unravel itself rapidly if you aren't holding onto it. I don't believe this would be much of a problem at a larger wire gauge, though.Personally, I'll be using this wire to help prop up and cage off some tomato and pepper plants that have been growing a bit wild; if you want a more heavy-duty gauge than the size I got, but this will be more than sufficient for my needs.I wasn't able to comprehensively test its tensile strength or rust resistance of the internal steel wire, but I wasn't able to break it by hand, and I believe it will last for multiple years. I'll update this review if the wire develops any issues, but I don't expect there to be any problems with it.My personal pledge as a reviewer: I only select items that I personally intend to use myself on a regular and continued basis. I always give my full, honest, unbiased and unfiltered opinion on everything I review. I will not mince words. I write exactly what I think about a product - the good, the bad, the ugly, and the questionable. And, I will update my review if a product breaks, stops working as intended, or otherwise doesn't hold up as expected.

Not as strong as I'd hoped.
I ordered this to use as trellis wire for my blackberries, but, it really isn't strong enough for that. I may be able to make use of it on plants with lighter loads, like clematis, or for making trellis that is applied to the wall with many attachments. Although, anything coated in vinyl has a limited life in the sun. The advertising photos should reflect actual uses for products. But, here they mislead.

Probably smaller than you think, even though it is correctly stated for size.
I can’t measure the vinyl cover separate from the wire as a whole, but I can measure the wire as a whole with my digital calipers. Mine is supposed to be 3/80ths. If anything, it’s slightly larger than that. It does appear to be made of 7 strands, though my eye can not tell if each of those 7 strands has 7 more strands. I did not check the length for the obvious reasons.I would not call this railing wire. I think everyone would find it far, far too narrow for that. It is designed so it doesn’t naturally kink (unlike copper wire such as used for electric lines). I’m going to use mine for raspberry support, and it’ll work okay for that. Just note that the pictures represent this stuff as being for railing and the pictures used in the listing are quite deceptive to that point. This wire is much, much, thinner than the pictures suggest, even if the measurements are correct. The pictures are obviously of either dollhouse railings or faked completely. For that, I reduce a star.

Probably rated 100lbf axial load
For what it is, the cable is good. It appears to be what is claimed, but shouldn't be used for the cases they promote it for. I would limit axial loads to under 100lbf.A clothesline... seriously? Wet clothes are heavy and require a line that can support very high tension (possibly up to 1000 pound force) to prevent excessive sagging. This product may work for very short clotheslines, but you'd probably be just as well off hanging clothes on other objects. I expect this to fail with under 400lbs of force. Do not use this for a clothesline.Don't use it to secure a shade sail either. Wind is powerful and can exert some mindblowing forces. Even a slight breeze can exert 100's of pound force across a large surface area. Please, use this to hang up a bird house in a tree, a picture on the wall, small lights to the ceiling. All the other claimed cases are gross exaggerations of the product's capabilities.I know I said it's good for what it is, but I'm taking 3 stars for false advertising. Consumer protection agencies can't or won't hold anyone accountable, so I'll try. Promoting this product for the mentioned uses and implying through images that it can be used for hand railing on balconies or marquee tents is deceitful and could lead to someone getting injured or killed when a cable snaps. I recommend the seller remove those images and change the description.

Stainless coated wire
Versatile wire that I plan to use for a cable railing fence. It’s strong and durable and could be used for a variety of things gs that require stainless steel wiring. The coating is nice and thick, should hold up well in humid Texas.

Not suitable for clothes line as advertised
Product said it could be used for clothes line. It cannot unless you intend to hang only a wash cloth. It is way too thin for hanging clothes.
