Works As Stated
Great stuff. Used this on a bunch of surplus ammo cans that had surface rust on them from being in storage in a pole barn for decades.Sprayed each can down completely, let them sit for 3 days to evaporate some, hit them with a brass brush, and all of the rust spots were gone. Also, sprayed down a recently-acquired SKS that had seen better days. The metal had surface rust, the chamber and barrel were severely neglected, as were both recoil rods, trigger group, gas tube, butt plate, and the bolt carrier group. Basically, the rifle looked like it was stored in a pole barn in the tropics somewhere. Everything looked terribly neglected.I used half of a can just on the SKS, which is a LOT of product. A little goes a long way, and it does penetrate. Left for a week wrapped in cheesecloth to keep it saturated and to help pull off the rust, dirt and whatever else was on it.Unwrapped it, hit it with some Purple Power degreaser (diluted 2:1), rinsed with hot water and used shop air to dry it off.Afterwards, it looked 30 years newer and 98% of the surface rust was gone. It will need refinished in the future, but this stuff gave it a serious face-lift and cleaning it desperately needed. If only it could be used on the original wood stock. *sigh*Anyway, worth the money. It seriously works great.

Kinda like an eco-friendly WD-40
Works mostly as expected, spray on and scrub off light surface rust, and this leaves a little bit of a protective coating. I've been using it also to lubricate door hinges and other things in my house as I don't like blasting WD-40 inside. Don't expect this to totally revitalize heavily rusted stuff but for a little bit of surface rust on tools this does the trick.

Rust Eater
Worked great.

I was excited to try this, but it fails to even spray.
I went to use some of this brand new unused gear hugger and both cans fail to spray at all. I’m not sure if it’s the eco friendly propellant they used or the low ish temps in my garage (mid 40s) but, I have two cans full of liquid I cannot use. My WD40, CLP and PB blaster all work in this temp range, but this was a fairly expensive experiment that did not go well. I’ll give the seller a bit of time to respond or replace it otherwise it’s getting returned. Eco friendly is great and all but it needs to actually propel liquid out of the can in order for this to be useful. I’d love to be able to rate the function of the product but I can’t even get that far into using it.

Eco friendly rust protection and cleaner
This works well as a rust remover and protection. I've always sprayed my tools down with a light coating of something especially the ones rotting in my humid garage. This seems to work as well as WD-40 or other silicone based sprays at that job. At nearly >$14 a bottle it's on the spendy side, but it is eco friendly and not pretroleum based. It works for my needs. This bottle will last me a while for my needs.

Not impressive as a rust remover.
I have a 40-year-old pair of pliers that still works great but is covered with rust, so I tried this to see how it would work. The first application did almost nothing, the second application did a little more, and the third application did a little more, but after 40 minutes of attempting to remove the rust most of it was still there. I tried scrubbing it with a sponge scrubber and that didn't do much more.Bottom line, the pliers are still rusty and probably will remain that way unless I take a wire brush to them.So as a rust remover this was mediocre at best. It would take months to determine what it would do as a rust preventer so I can't comment on that, but for now I'm unimpressed.I hope this helps. Thanks for reading and liking.
