Suncast Cascade® 7'x4' Storage Shed | 171 cu ft. | BMS7400D model

Purchased elsewhere and had a lot of trouble getting it. Suncast is US-based and seems to be unknown compared to Keter. We needed a new shed to go down the side of our house, which meant it needed to be side opening and as large as possible without being more than 4ft deep. We wanted a plastic one because the side of the house doesn't get much sun but does get flooded whenever the drain gets blocked or next door jet-washes their patio, so the old wooden one was rotting away (the garage wall behind it wasn't doing too good either). I went for this one because it has the apex roof rather than the pent, which would reduce the water going down the back and wetting the aforementioned wall, and because it has the double doors which make it so much easier to get to stuff. Our old one was similar to the Keter Manor Pent Resin Outdoor Garden Storage Shed, 6 x 4 ft., Large - Beige and getting things out from the back was a nightmare. If you're using all the space then you definitely want the double doors. This is similar in size and style to the Keter Fusion Large 7.5 x 4 ft Wood Plastic Composite Outdoor Garden Storage Shed - Brown , which comes in Grey/Grey and Brown/Grey. This one was a bit cheaper at the time of purchase. Personally, I also think it's the more attractive of the two. It's really too nice to be hidden beside the house! It comes flatpack in one enormous box. My husband put it together himself. There was no swearing to speak of and he was still smiling at the end. Like all plastic stores you'll need a drill or power screwdriver unless you want RSI. I think there's supposed to be a couple of corner shelves, but I honestly don't know what we've done with them. You can buy racks at vast expense, or you can get a set of plastic shelves like [...] which are infinitely cheaper. It doesn't come with a padlock, so you'll also need that. There's a 10 year manufacturer's warranty, which is good. I've also had it a couple of months, so can't comment otherwise on longevity. All in all, I'm very pleased with this. It looks great, it won't rot and I don't have to paint it - what more can you ask? If you want more space, there's the Suncast BMS8400 ® Premium Large Resin Garden Storage Shed - Tremont Five Model (Size: 8'x4', Capacity: 206 Cubic Foot Capacity) , which is slightly deeper and a foot longer. If you need to go smaller, Suncast BMS6310D 6-Feet by 3-Feet Shed and Keter Factor Resin Outdoor Garden Storage Shed, 6 x 3 Feet - Beige are both 6x3 in the same style.

From a courtesy delivery to easy set up, the entire experience was enjoyable. The shed is perfect, sturdy, instructions straight forward, and fit everything i had in mind.

Great shed! I was amazed at how well everything fit together, and how well the instructions were written. At first I thought it was going to be daunting, with over 35 steps. But it was because each step was so detailed, which is quite different than I'm used to with other products I've had to assemble and where the instructions are tyically written in China! I assembled this by myself in about 3 hours, and only needed assistance from my wife when putting the roof on. Not thing I was not expecting before I bought it, was that I would have to build a fairly elaborate base to mount it to. This took more time than the shed assembly did, and I needed six pressure treated 2" x 6" x 96" boards. If you are placing this on a level concrete slab, you won't need to build this, but I didn't have that situation. The doors on mine don't close smoothly, but that is because my lot is not level, it slopes. But it works well enough to do the job. UPDATE 6/15/2023: We had a huge winter in 2017 with lots of snow. I had placed this shed on the side of the house, and a huge ice dam came crashing down on this from the 2nd story, crushing the roof of the shed. I was able to get a replacement roof and some other panels sent by the manufacturer at a reasonable cost and was able to repair the shed. I relocated the shed to a safer spot, and never had another problem with it, even with 2 ft of snow piled on the roof in some winters!

I have never put a shed together and would rate my do it your selfer ability at about average. I put off assembling it for a couple of weeks because it looked intimidating with all the pieces and big instruction book. But I used the how you eat an elephant strategy (one bite at a time) and just focused on the first step or even the first line in the instructions. Nothing else. The instructions are clear and well written. First day (4 hours including buying the lumber from Home Depot) I put the sub floor together. If you bring the measurements from the instruction book, HD will make all the cuts at the store. All you have to do is assemble. I also stapled a plastic sheet from the $ store to the top of the sub floor as a vapor shield. 2nd day (2 hours) assembled framing, door windows, and hinges. 3rd day, (2.5 hours) assembled the walls, doors and roof, very easy, like a giant erector set. This was the 4x8. The book states throughout it takes 2 people. I did this completely by myself (long arms helps). Don’t rush, be clear what the instructions say and go one step at a time. Three tips, the screws are identified with letters in the book but not on the bag. (There are a bunch) match the screws to the picture and label them yourself. Instruction book says put the two supporting roof beems (not the main one) on after the roof is on. Put on before you put roof on. virtually impossible once the roof is on. If you are having trouble aligning doors make sure subfloor is level with ground.

Easy to assemble. Sturdy. Looks good.
