704 Gear Fang: The Tactical Shark for Your Pocket
The 704 Gear Fang is the kind of knife that looks like it should come with its own action movie soundtrack. With a 3.22-inch D2 tanto blade, this thing is sharp, aggressive, and built for serious cutting power—whether you're breaking down boxes or just asserting your dominance over stubborn packaging. The crossbar lock? Rock solid. It snaps into place like a bank vault, ensuring that blade isn’t going anywhere until you say so. And when it’s time to close? Smooth as a brand-new bolt-action rifle. Now, let’s talk about that G10 handle—grippy, durable, and feels like it was made for real work. The reversible pocket clip means lefties don’t have to suffer, and at just the right size, it disappears into your pocket until duty calls.Final Verdict:The Fang is sharp, smooth, and built like a tank. 9/10—because every guy needs a pocket knife that makes him feel a little more tactical.

Sooo close to being 5⭐️...
I wanted to give it 5⭐️, but there are a few things holding me back, the most notable of which being that blade pivot screw. When these knives are being assembled, somewhere along the line, somewhere in the final process, someone KNOWS that those pivot screws are being tightened WAY beyond their usefulness, and they're being allowed to leave the factories like that anyway. Good quality T9 Torx bits aren't exactly the easiest size to find, and when you do find them, they're almost always one of the stupid tamper resistant type, or you have to buy a set with four or five other sizes. I snapped two of them and twisted another before I was finally able to get that thing to turn. Three Torx T9 bits ruined before I was able to finally get it loosened without damaging the fourth bit.The next issue concerns the wimpy jimping on the back of the blade. It would be better to not do any jimping at all than to do that, or preferrably, make it far, FAR more substantial and do it on the frame halves and scales. The last issue regards the butt, the lanyard hole, and the pocket clip. If the frame and scale pieces were shaped a little more traditionally, this could have been a full deep carry and could have still had a lanyard hole; not necessarily THAY lanyard hole, but a much smaller one.For the most part I really do like this knife. Once I was able to crack that pivot screw loose, I was finally able to get it opening and closing much faster and with almost zero effort, as well as having zero horizontal or vertical play in the pivot. The axis lock spring is a bit aggressive, but it's still easy enough to pull down and secure the blade. The blade was nice and sharp, straight out of the box, and it's holding its edge very well. This is also my thinnest knife, and I wasn't sure if I was going to like it or not, but even though it doesn't go as deep into my pocket as I'd like it to, it's still very comfortable, and when I do need it, it's also very comfortable in hand. Overall, I really do like this knife, and if it wasn't for that blade pivot screw, in spite of those other drawbacks, I probably still would have rated it with 5⭐️.

Just about perfect
This has been my everyday pocket knife. Sharp blade. Lightweight and slim profile. Easy to deploy without cutting yourself unlike other pocket knives. I wish they made the same knife about an inch shorter blade so I don’t freak out people. I also would love to see a fixed knife just like this.

Great knife
Great knife, especially for the price. You get a quality knife for the price. I actually bought 2 models. A lot of people complained about the blades of these knives not being centered but both of mine were. Love this knife. Great weight and durability.

Buyer beware
I am only giving this 3 stars... I like 704 Tactical knives and thought this would be a nice addition....not so much, The cross bar lock is so stiff it hurts to use..oil did not help..I was going to adjust the omega spring but the pivot screw is all but impossible to loosen....I did not want to strip it or my torx driver...the blade is sharp..this one is centered..I have others that are not but I could tighten/loosen the pivot screw on those to true the blade up....mildly disappointed...could have been a nice edc but it is just too hard to deploy..bear in mind your experience may vary..you may get one that is 100 percent perfect..I hope you do....I could return this..probably should..but I will keep it as a reminder that I don't need to buy something just because it was on sale....good luck!
