...that this is not everything you need to start spraying paint, unlike other paint sprayers on the market: You need a compressor to actually make this sprayer work, so, just fyi.

Fan pattern adjustment screw no longer works. Only shoots in a tight circle. Only used few times. Junk.

I watched videos of people painting whole cars with this sprayer, so when I had a couple fenders and a door blend to do, I thought I would give it a try. When I first solvent washed it to rid it of manufacturing oils, I did find a small metal shaving inside - but that was the only issue, and it did wash right out with the normal pre-cleaning. After attaching a disposable cup adapter, I ran this off of a little 6cfm compressor, at between 25 and 31 psi (base/clear) and found it to give a remarkably good finish. As long as the paint is thinned properly and the correct temperature catalyst is used, I feel this does an excellent job. Not sure if the smaller pattern would work to keep a wet edge doing a whole car in warmer temperatures, but absolutely no issues doing fenders and a half door blend.

I got this for painting guitars, as my various HVLP guns run as high as 14.5CFM and I wanted a more efficient gun for small projects. This one is very good for the cost, and it makes it so I don't have to run my compressor as much. The spray is finely adjustable and it does a good job at atomizing various thicknesses of paint and lacquer. I upgraded mine with a few small accessories such as a paint cup adapter (16x1.5mm internal thread), and added a regulator and filter. So far, so good, and at a nice price too. There are also many companies that sell extra nozzles for the R500, so that's a nice option to have. I also like the look of this gun, cool colors. I had no issues with getting this cleaned up and disassembled and ready to spray.

I ordered this to repaint my kitchen cabinets. The time savings alone are worth every cent. I like that I can use water based or oil based paint. The instructions are clear and it was easy to use.
