Car: 2016 Honda Pilot Audio Connection: AUX Previously, I was using the HondaHack with CarLinkit on the integrated infotainment system in the Pilot. That setup was good as it used the build in screen and the volume and next track buttons on the steering wheel worked. BUT wired connectivity was hit or miss. It would only connect 25% of the time. So that is why I installed this after market screen. It works as expected and connects to my iPhone via wireless (there doesn't seem to be a wired option). It now connects 100% of the time. Two things to be aware of: (1) you may need to buy a feedback filter if using the AUX connection - otherwise you may hear a background hum. (2) If the last connected iPhone is within range (in the house while car is in the driveway), it will not allow you to connect another previously connected iPhone. You will need to drive off and be out of range to connect the other iphone (not sure if this is standard bluetooth behavior or not).

A very easy way to add Car Play to an older car without having to open the dashboard up and remove the old radio and do any new wiring. Make sure to read all the instructions before setting it up. It was an easy installation and setup.

Works good. I have an old BOSS radio that has am/fm, aux and Bluetooth tooth. This thing u plug it in and turn on the Bluetooth/Wifi to phone. And connect to name of tablet Carkit. Now it marries to ur phone. All the sound of the apps and ITunes will come out via tablet. To change it. Go into Home Screen of the tablet go to settings and u can choose FM broadcast, Bluetooth connection Aux connection. Don’t use FM unless ur radio has nothing else. If u were already connected to car radio Bluetooth don’t bother connecting via tablet leave it alone. Use aux if u want wire connection. Now turn on ur radio set it on Bluetooth. Open up ur ITunes app play sum music. The sound will come out via tablet to make it come out via ur car radio Bluetooth… At the bottom of screen on ur ITunes app u can change were u want sound to come from. The cellphone speaker, ur radio or tablet. Change it to ur car radio Bluetooth name And boom u good. If you don’t do this. When u open ur WAZE, Apple Maps, Google Maps the sound from those apps will be muffled. If u are playing music u will barely hear app in the background. If follow steps above. Navigating app sounds will only come out via tablet and be nice & loud. U can still manipulate ITunes via CarPlay.

Best $40 I’ve spent on this car. It’s glitchy a little when connecting. Sometimes you have to reconnect but it works. Also i had an issue connecting to the car’s speakers but i was able to figure out out and connect. Sounds good. It also lags a little but not enough to return. Great option when you don’t want to spend $500 on a system at an audio shop. Worth it.
