Super Sharp and very well balanced.
This Chef knife is amazing, I have used it from prepping to serving. It is very beautiful and very nicely balanced. The blade is so sharp, that the first time I cut with it I thought the knife didn't go all the way through as the cut was so smooth and the meat didn't move under the blade. I will be adding the rest of these to my collection in the near future.

THIS IS NOW MY FAVORITE KNIFE!
Not only is this Chef's knife BEAUTIFUL, but it also sliced a very overripe tomato without smushing it! I also cut a watermelon and it sliced through it like butter. Time will tell if it holds up to my abuse, but I will always hand wash this stunning knife every single time to be sure it lasts. I was actually surprised when I opened the box, pictures do NOT do it justice. Yes, I would recommend and purchase this knife again, and I look forward to finding more knives from this product line!

Beautiful and Functional Gift
This is a great quality knife, beautifully made and boxed to make a great gift. The handle is gorgeous and well-made --- the blade goes through the full handle for better function. It's nicely weighted, and the blade sharpens as well. The 8-inch size is the most used in my kitchen, so I really think this would be a welcome addition to any kitchen.

Nicely made knife
This review covers the Santoku version. The knife is a well-crafted kitchen utensil. The balance point is just where it should be, and the fit and finish of the handle materials to the steel is excellent. Blade geometry is on par with other Santoku knives I've used, and the handle is comfortable. The handle is interesting. It seems to be a clear resin over natural abalone shell. On one side of my sample, it is one piece of shell, on the other side, it seems to be pieced together. I'm not sure how well the clear resin will hold up to kitchen use without dulling or getting scratched. The blade has a very fine damascus pattern, and appears to be fairly even from side to side. However, there is very little contrast between the layers and due to the high polish, from a few feet away it appears to just be a polished blade. The cullens are small and stamped in, rather than ground in. I've never seen that before. It was fairly sharp out of the box, but not quite up to my standard, so I gave it a touch-up on a fine stone and a strop. The knife comes in a nicely fitted box with magnetic closure. Overall, it's a nice knife.

Delivered sharp
Out of the box, this was super sharp. It has a good weight and the blade has a fun damascus design to it. The handle is also pretty solid, but a little colorful compared to my other knifes.

Beautiful looking knife, good balance, sharp blade, cuts well.
This knife has a beautiful resin covered abalone handle, and the pattern of the forged layers of steel in the blade is gorgeous. The cutting edge is sharp and effective. It will take quite some time before I know how durable the edge is, but based on the information on the product page, I am hopeful it will hold a sharp edge for a long time. This is my new favorite general-purpose chef's knife that will stay in my countertop knife block.

Impressive knife-- cuts great, feels substantial
We are always on a quest for great knives, and this one is a winner. It has a very solid feel, well-balanced, and cuts meat easily. The handle is beautiful as well. I noticed a comment from someone that they test knives based on cutting a cherry tomato: I prefer a serrated knife for tomatoes, while this knife easily handles meat, potatoes, and heavy/large vegetables. It makes chopping fun!
