Q: How do you weigh the arm?

They sell arm weight scale devices. Saw one in Amazon for around $13. I know of no way to measure the arm force other than using such a tool.

Q: Do you put the needle balance on top of slip matt or on top of a record? I want to know if height difference of a record will matter.

I put it on the slip mat and got an accurate reading, the needle pressure works very well and is highly accurate.
