Good but slightly overpriced coffee beans
The coffee comes in a decorative container that honestly is a bit more packaging than necessary, but at the price, I get that they have to dress it up a bit. The coffee itself is solid in a pour over or aeropress. The flavor notes are dark chocolate, tart fruits and a bit earthy. It provided me the caffeine kick I need in the mornings to get out of the house. At the price point, I don't know if the quality is that much greater than some other beans I've had at lower prices, but it is still a good coffee with great flavors and aromas. Overall it's a pleasant cup of coffeee and I enjoy drinking it, I just think it should be a little less pricy.

Flavorful and filling
From the moment my package arrived, I could tell this wasn’t just any ordinary bag of coffee beans. The container itself immediately stood out sturdy, well-sealed, and clearly designed to preserve freshness. Once opened I was greeted by an incredible aroma that filled the room. The smell of freshly roasted coffee beans was bold, rich, and inviting, giving me that instant "coffeehouse" feeling right in my own home, I was personally excited to try it. Grinding the beans was easy, and I experimented with a fine grind for my first brew. What impressed me right away was the balance of the flavor profile. This coffee wasn’t overpoweringly strong, bitter or have an after taste, which I personally appreciated it was smooth, layered, and surprisingly complex. I’ve shared a few cups with friends and family, and the feedback has been unanimously positive. Everyone commented on how flavorful and aromatic the coffee was without being bitter. Even those who usually add sugar or cream mentioned how smooth it was when enjoyed black. If you’re someone who values a flavorful, aromatic, and smooth coffee experience, I’d highly recommend giving this one a try.

Great flavor, but for a high price
I tried the Yirgacheffe Heirloom. The beans arrived fresh in an impressive looking tin. The flavor is exceptional and fragrant, but the price is kind of high. If you are okay with the price, then it's definitely worth getting. For me, this will be more of a special occasion coffee reserved for brewing with a nice dessert instead of a "wake me up" coffee in the morning.

Skip This One
I kind of expected the beans to arrive super-oxidized and oily, but they weren't SO bad in that regard. However, they don't taste fresh. The case is cute - but it isn't air-tight. The coffee is very mild, and not very acidic at all. Those are plusses. But it also lacks in flavor - completely. Sure - it's "smooth", in much the same way water is smooth. I'm no connoisseur, but it tasted . . . dusty? Like if you were in a zombie apocalypse desperate for coffee, and you came across an abandoned cabin in the woods, and you drank the 20-yr-old coffee that you found inside. The number 1 flavor note is "musty." If this roast started out delicious, it should have been preserved with a vacuum pack. The price is nuts for the poor quality. Spend $20 less and buy a yirgacheffe from a local roaster near you.

Missing the fresh ground and brewed coffee smell
This is a beautifully packaged item. The flip top on the box is opened by pushing in the gold button in and a small removeable tray seals in the coffee beans. I am a coffee lover and was excited to try it because it mentions notes of bergamot, one of my favorite scents. When I opened the box, I have to admit, I did not get that fresh coffee bean smell. I detected a very faint whiff of orange. I ground the beans just before brewing on a medium grind. It appeared the grind was a bit uneven, so not sure if my grinder was the problem. I did not care for the first brew attempt. It just did not taste good. I could not smell the coffee brewing at all. I typically have a very refined palate and sense of smell. The next day, I tried again and used a finer ground on the beans. It opened up the flavor more when drinking, but still no coffee smell. Overall for the price, the flavor was not exciting. I am giving it four stars in case my grinder was part of the problem. It still would make a nice gift. But, if you were expecting that woosh of awesome coffee smell when you open the box, or brewing, it was not there.

Amazing Aroma, Smooth Coffee
This isn’t as strong as I expected compared to other Ethiopian coffees I’ve tried, but the smell of these beans is absolutely amazing. Before borrowing my mom’s grinder, I figured out how to grind them in the blender using the ice setting, which worked surprisingly well. I’m very happy with this order. Coffee is my morning go to, and I’m thrilled to have it on hand!
